The Foundation is specifically designed to make scholarships available to graduates of the two primary Berks County vocational schools - Reading Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center, and Berks Career and Technology Center who are pursuing careers in the building industry.

Since the creation of the foundation, we have awarded several students with scholarships. However, as we continue to award scholarships moving forward, we need to replenish what we have already awarded and what will be awarded in the future. Scholarships are awarded for two years, and each student receives a total of $2,000 throughout their year in college for a total of $6,000 per year to be distributed over a two-year period.

Obviously, no gift is too large or too small, but the Board did direct that a special category of donors be created. Any person or business donating $6000 or more will be designated as a founder and will have their name listed on the Foundation’s letterhead. Donations can be forwarded to the HBA address below payable to the Builders Education Scholarship Foundation.

In the event you have any questions, please feel free to contact the HBA office.

As an association of building professional tradespeople and as adults, we have an obligation to our own children and, in the opinion of the foundation board, the children of others to create for them opportunities to become valuable, contributing members of our community. The Builders Education Scholarship Foundation creates just such an opportunity.
