Join Dr. Marty Main of the University of Florida to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Florida Master Naturalist program with a presentation about Florida's natural history and highlights from his many years in the field.


Marty began his career in wildlife ecology in Oregon but has been on the faculty at the University of Florida since 2002. His primary research interests are associated with behavioral ecology, related to questions regarding conservation, habitat management, and human-wildlife conflict. He founded the Florida Master Naturalist Program in 2001. The program is a conservation education and natural history extension offering that has issued upwards of 20,000 graduation certificates since its inception. Graduates of the program have contributed thousands of volunteer hours to the natural resources of the state of Florida. Marty holds a BS in biology from Central Michigan University, a MS in Biological Oceanography from FIT, and a PhD in Wildlife Science from Oregon State University.
