Francis Kneussle

Francis Kneussle was born and raised in the North Country, where he fell in love with the history that surrounded him, from the foundation of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy to the expeditions of Samuel de Champlain to Ethan Allen’s daring capture of Fort Ticonderoga. Inspired by this passion for the past, he went to SUNY Geneseo, where he studied history, French, and anthropology, and later moved to Albany, where he narrowed his historical focus on Byzantine literature and its influence on modern Greek national identity. Since receiving his Masters, he has been working as a project archivist at the Archives Partnership Trust and writing his article From One Highland to Another, which has allowed him to return to his North Country roots by focusing on the fascinating story of Scottish settlement in the Champlain Valley
