| The MBTA Educational Foundation is a tax-exempt, 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization awarding scholarships annually to deserving Maine students pursuing transportation-related fields of study, including transportation trades, 1- 2- and 4-year degrees in any program related to transportation.
MBTA began offering scholarships in the 1980s through a Scholarship Fund. In 2000, the association formed the Educational Foundation as a separate organization, providing an opportunity for members and friends to make charitable contributions to the Foundation. Thanks to the generosity of our members, the fund has grown to over $850,000, including named scholarships for Ken Burrill, Tim Folster, Frank Healy, Paul Koziell, and Millard Pray - all of who are past presidents of MBTA. We thank you for your support!
