The First 1,000 Hours: Integrating Pediatric Growth Monitoring with Breastfeeding Support

The early postnatal period—often referred to as the first 1,000 hours—is a critical window for establishing optimal growth, metabolic health, and long-term well-being. Lactation consultants are uniquely positioned to support families during this time, yet interpreting infant growth in the context of exclusive breastfeeding can be challenging. This session equips IBCLCs with practical tools to integrate pediatric growth monitoring into lactation care without undermining breastfeeding confidence.
