Erik Henzl, Staff Research Scientist and environmental economist with the Desert Research Institute (DRI), will present on the growing infrastructure needs associated with data centers in Nevada.

Fueled by the continued expansion of artificial intelligence, cloud computing and other digital services, data centers are becoming an increasingly significant part of Nevada’s infrastructure landscape. Erik will discuss the water and energy resources required to support this rapidly growing industry, including how current and planned data center development could impact Nevada’s future utility and infrastructure needs. His research focuses on helping better understand these demands as Nevada continues to emerge as one of the nation’s fastest-growing data center markets.
