The Police Driver Instructor Course is an event specifically designed for law enforcement professionals who are responsible for training other officers in proper driving techniques. This course covers a variety of topics including defensive driving, pursuit driving, instructor development, course and curriculum development, and emergency vehicle operations.
The tuition for this event is $900.00 per person.
This course is intended to provide the base to be certified to teach defensive and emergency vehicle driver training.
This is not a high-speed EVOC Course.
What participants can expect and what is expected from them:
Public speaking is going to be required on topics related to current Department Policy and Emergency Vehicle Operations.
Class is from 8:00 am to 5:00 PM.
Some homework may be required.
Laptops are required for this course.
Ability to operate computers/laptops & software associated with presentations such as PowerPoint.
Must be able to pass a slow-speed precision driving course and a timed emergency response course.
Ability to work alone or within a group/team.
Note: Lunch is not provided for this class and lodging is the responsibility of the participant/agency.

**Participants are encouraged to bring with them the vehicles that their respective police departments are currently using for driver training or vehicles used in day-to-day patrol operations. Participants will be allowed to use their vehicles during skill development drills to facilitate real-world training.**
The Missouri Safety Center will provide older model sedans to use if participants prefer. Just note that the Safety Center vehicles may not reflect vehicle models currently being used in your department operations.
