Testimonials

I realized that the more you practice the more comfortable you are delivering mindfulness to students.  It has been a grand experience becoming more aware by just noticing your breath.  Thank you Mindful Kids Miami for this unforgettable experience.

I had a wonderful experience with the MTTP program. I discovered the personal benefits of mindfulness through the guided exercises and the positive impacts that mindfulness can have on students. The daily practice in the classroom can bring more balance and compassion to the learning environment

MKM's vision is to improve the lives of all children in the community by giving them access to mindfulness skills that reduce stress and anxiety, develop attention and focus, promote emotional regulation and impulse control, teach empathy and compassion, and create a sense of well-being.

This 6-week version of MTTP is an experiential training for educators preparing them to teach age-appropriate mindfulness practices, games, activities, and skills based on social-emotional learning. These methods train children and youth to pay attention, strengthen focus, increase impulse control, regulate behavior, and cultivate tolerance, compassion, and empathy for themselves and others.

Most importantly, this extension of training for the teachers adheres to the foundational principle of teachers continuing to cultivate their daily practice as experienced in the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program, the Mindfulness Immersion, and The M-Body and Mind program, which either one satisfies the prerequisite for participating in MTTP.

Learning Objectives

  • Students gain fundamental knowledge for introducing Mindful practices to youth
  • Students learn mindful movement and games and play to teach Mindfulness skills
  • Students expand learning and demonstrate comprehension through dyads & and playbacks
  • Students learn mindful relaxation and kindness practices to teach Mindfulness skills
  • Students synthesize knowledge and learn to integrate practices in educational settings

*Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindful Body & Mind Program (M-Body), and the Champions Initiative are a prerequisite.
