| Event Basics: Flatwater rodeo competitions are an opportunity to show off all of your best freestyle kayaking skills. At the Willamette River Festival's flatwater rodeo, competitors will have a two-minute window to throw down all of their best skills in the eddy directly adjacent to the River House Beach. Participants can bring their own boats or borrow a playboat from the River House Outdoor Center. A panel of judges will score each competitor on the basis of style, skill, and stoke.
When and Where: Competitors should arrive at the River House Beach at 1:45pm to stage their kayaks and sign in with race organizers. Those who are borrowing a kayak will be assigned equipment when signing in. Competition boats can be unloaded in the River House driveway before parking at the nearby School District 4J parking lot.
We will aim to begin the competition at 2:00pm. Each competitor will have a two-minute window for their rodeo session, and participants will compete in the sign-in arrival order.
