2025 Quarter 4 Newsletter

2026 Holiday Skip-a-Pay soon available:

Want to save some money for bills, a holiday trip, or Christmas gifts this November or December? Our Skip-a-Pay offer is coming back this year, where you can skip a month's payment, while also funding our yearly scholarship fund.

For $50, you can skip one month's payment on either your an auto or signature (Line of Credit) loan that you have with us with no negative credit ramifications. Half of the fee for the skipped payment also directly goes into our yearly scholarship fund, so the more people who participate in saving some extra money for the holiday also help out others at the CU!

To qualify, the member's collateralized loan must have had six on time payments, meaning it must be at least six months old, and the member must have $50 in their savings or checking account at time of request. You can skip a payment for either November or December, and can do so by logging into your Online Banking Account and requesting a Skip-a-Pay for qualifying months. If you are unable to skip a payment online, please contact the office as we can process it for you as well. If you choose to do it on your app or web browser, please let the office know so we can ensure it was properly received and processed.

Skip-a-pay will be available to request starting 11/1/2025 and must be done at least three days before you normally pay for the day skipped that is being requested.

*HELOCs are not eligible for skip-a-pay

2025 Christmas Club Account Funds soon available, 2026 details:

For members that currently have a Christmas Club Savings account, this is a reminder that your funds and earned dividends will become available November 1st, 2025. If you want to immediately fund your subaccount for the following 2026 fiscal year, please contact us in your preferred method or you can also log in and transfer the funds yourself between your accounts. If you want to transfer these funds to another institution or get a check, the funds will be available to do so on the first business day of the month, November 3rd.

For members who do not know what a Christmas Club Savings account is, it is a savings account that earns at a 3.50% rate on a maximum of $10,000. The account is limited to only two early withdrawals a year before November, each being a $10 fee for the withdrawal. Some members use it as a fantastic higher yielding hidey-hole for Christmas gifts or trips, and other members prefer to max out the dividends they can earn by immediately filling it up each year with the $10,000. It's a great place to store your money, because unlike a CD or other locked or semi-locked savings with FI's, we won't take all your interest earned on an early withdrawal fee or fee you more than the interest you've earned.

If you have any questions about your Christmas Club, would like us to schedule it to be funded again for the 2026 year, or how to open one, please reach out to the office here.

2025 PSRFCU Scholarship Recipients:

We announced our 2025 Scholarship recipients on 9/5, but for any who missed it, congratulations again to Courtney Doyle and Travis Follett for being selected as recipients of our $1000 scholarship! Travis and Courtney both submitted fantastic applications and are off to Montana State University and Western Washington University. All applicants had wonderful and well crafted submissions, and we encourage everyone to apply again next year!

We will announce our 2026 Scholarship with its application and essay prompt around January 2026 with the next newsletter, as the window for applicants has now moved to March 2026 - May 2026.

As a reminder from the Skip-a-Pay section, part of the $50 Skip-Pay fee goes to fund this scholarship for our members seeking to further their education. We couldn't host it without a fantastic membership who cares about their youth!

Our scholarship this year and next is open to all members and eligible future members looking to further their education.

Federal Reserve's Recent Prime Rate Change:

The Federal Reserve recently voted to change the Prime Rate from 7.50% to 7.25%. It isn't the rate drop most were hoping for, but it does still impact a few rates here at PSRFCU. The primary group of rates affected are rates that are tied to prime, like Youth Super Savers and HELOC rates.

Youth Super Savers are accounts for minors with a maximum balance of $1000, where they can earn at a rate of Prime Rate + 1.00%. This most recent rate change (as of 9/17/25) will bring the dividend rate to 8.25%. For more information on Super Savers or to get one started for your kids or grandkids, reach out to the office or click here.

HELOC rates are also tied to prime, so depending on if you have an adjustable rate or not, your rate will also decrease by 0.25%. For more information about our HELOCs, click this link or contact the office here for more specific questions about your HELOC.

New rates and limits for Certificate of Deposits can be found here.
