Intimate Partner Stalking

Thursday, October 15th | 12:00pm in Mountain Time

Nearly half of stalking offenders are current or former intimate partners. While all stalkers can be dangerous, intimate partner stalkers are, on average, the most threatening and violent towards their victims. Whether perpetrated during and/or after an abusive relationship, intimate partner stalking can be a form of coercive control and brings its own risk factors and safety planning considerations.

In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), SPARC (the Stalking Prevention, Awareness, & Resource Center) will provide this webinar to focus on recognizing and responding to intimate partner stalking.

Intimate Partner Violence and Pets (English)

Monday, October 26th | 4:30pm in Mountain Time

Pets are family, which is why many survivors of abuse stay in an unsafe home. This October, an organization called Women Against Abuse is taking action to help both survivors and their pets find safety from abuse.

Just in time for DVAM, they're hosting a webinar on IPV and Pets, both in English and in Spanish. It’s open to anyone, from survivors of abuse to anti-abuse advocates to individuals who want to help a survivor and their pet.

Supporting the Employment Rights of Survivors with Disabilities

Thursday, October 29th | 12:00pm in Mountain Time

For survivors with disabilities, keeping a job can be an important part of maintaining safety and stability. But domestic violence can create new barriers at work—or make existing disability-related barriers even harder to navigate.

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Futures Without Violence, Activating Change, and Disability Rights Florida are coming together to explore how advocates can help survivors with disabilities access workplace protections.

Enhancing Survivor Resilience and Preventing Staff Burnout: Creative Strategies

Thursday, December 3rd | 1:00pm in Mountain Time

The work to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, teen dating violence, and stalking exacts a high cost on advocates. Engaging in a variety of intentional creative practices can help advocates learn new skills to support survivors and prevent advocate burnout.

The Praxis team invites you to join them for a facilitated virtual writing circle to learn practices to use in our work with survivors. Together, we will tap into our creative minds and find strength in sharing stories. You don’t need to see yourself as a writer– all are welcome. In this interactive session, participants will explore writing strategies that enhance survivor wellbeing and foster advocate resiliency.
