BACK TO THE NONA FIELDS
It is that exciting time of the year again; New Beginnings…Back to School, back to routines, and Back to Soccer! I have an EXCITING feeling that this will be our best season yet. Would you believe it is YEAR 6? We continue to grow, and growing means in all areas such as our Professional Operations, Coaches Development, Competitive Leagues, and Community Partnerships, just to name a few.
This summer, after our exposure with USL-2, we are changing a couple things in our programs to continue to move towards the highest level of professional training and development. After all we must prepare our boys and girls, aiming to expose them as much as possible with the game of soccer here at Nona.
A department for Soccer Operations focused 100% in training levels, player development and excellence has been uniquely established. This program will be led by Coach Guillermo Escudero Tello, our Director of Soccer Operations, UEFA Licensed Coach. Coach Guillermo brings a lot of experience from Spain with Real Madrid, Orlando City and more.
In addition, Coach Romero as the Senior Soccer Academy Coordinator, is on his team. Coach Romero has been with us for 5 years and is in charge of our College Placement. He has been responsible to assist over 30 Nona Student-Athletes in the last few years to continue their careers playing soccer in College. Last but not least, Coach Magnun also a UEFA licensed Coach, who is going into year 2 at Nona, brings a lot of experience to our youth from Germany, USL and from Jacksonville Armada and JFC. I am confident this group of professionals can bring the excellence we are looking for into both Competitive and Recreational.
Alejandro Tarazona is our Recreational Manager and will managing the Nemours Recreational League. He has been with Nona since 2018, recently graduated from UCF and has dedicated to Nona full-time. Along side him in management in our Recreational Division is Coach Frodo, General Manager and Charlie Zappata, another long time Nona Coach and full-time employee.
As mentioned before tryouts, we have maintained our relationships with top leagues - EDP, FYSA, FSPL, State Cup and National League PRO (which accepted another NONA team for the next season. The 2009 Black will join the 2008 Black this season at the highest level tournament available to us). Our Soccer Operations Team, along with myself, will continue diligently staying on top of the market to provide the best possible leagues for ALL Levels at Nona.
Our practices will continue to be held at the State-of-the-Art Austin Tindall Sports Complex as this business relationship is solidified with our performances in the last 3 years.
A few partnerships to recognize, and more to come. When partnerships are renewed it is a directly correlation many strong facets of the Academy especially the reputation of the brand with our sponsors and business relationships. Adidas will be our uniform provider for the next 6 years and Nemours will continue to be our Master Sponsor for the next 3 years! We are proud to align with both of them.
This week on Wednesday and Thursday at Austin Tindall we will have a lot of fan gear and extra training uniforms available for purchase! You can also donate your old orange jerseys and cleats as we will pass them forward.
Make sure you are checking the Teamsnap app for the time of practices. Competitive Players should have received new Uniforms in the mail. Recreational Players receive uniforms on Monday August 15th. Uniform questions please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Can’t wait for the New Season for your Home Team and see all these kids happy coming back to the Nona Fields.
LET'S GO LONG HORNS!
There is no place like home. There is no place like NONA!
