| On Saturday, March 29, the Florida Department of Health in Collier County (DOH-Collier) hosted the first annual Collier County Children's Dental Day. The event was held in partnership with the University of Florida Dentistry Program, Naples Children & Education Foundation, Healthcare Network, Collier County Libraries, The Togetherhood Initiative, Boys & Girls Club of Collier County, Health Planning Council of Southwest Florida, and the Shelter for Abused Women & Children. Local dental professionals offered basic pediatric dental screenings at no cost. The event took place at three locations in Collier County:
- Boys & Girls Club of Collier County - Bolch Immokalee
- NCEF Pediatric Dental Center
- Golden Gate Public Library
No appointment was needed to receive services.
Children received important dental screenings and parents were provided dental resources in the area to continue to maintain their child's oral health. In addition to dental screenings, DOH-Collier Pediatric Immunizations staff were onsite providing parents with information on the immunization portal and administering Tdap immunizations to rising 7th grade students. The event was a huge success! Planning has begun for the next Collier County Children's Dental Day in 2026. |
