We have been gathering in Oakland for Healing Hearts: Walk/Run/MOVE! for Suicide Prevention for the past 15 years. This year, you’re invited to be a part of our very first Healing Hearts Day!
Now, the activities are all day. You can join Crisis Support Services of Alameda County and friends at Lake Merritt for a 5K walk/run/MOVE!, movement activities, and a Health & Wellness Fair. And afterwards, you can support our services by just doing regular degular Saturday stuff! Eat good all day, adopt a new plant baby, sing a song with new friends, find cute little gifts and toys for your loved ones, find a new fit, play some pool, get in a bit of salsa dancing, score a heart-themed tattoo, and take home a case of artisanal brew--all while supporting multiple community-based organizations!
The participating locations are old friends and new partners with many donating a portion of their proceeds on May 17th to support our crisis services, free therapy, and community education programs. Visit at any time during business hours. Tell them CSS sent you 💜 However you choose to engage, thank you for participating in collective care and supporting suicide prevention.

| Sweet Adeline Bakeshop @sweetadeline Sweet Adeline is a quaint, neighborhood bakeshop where everything is made in small batches. They serve sweet and savory pastries, scones, pies, breads, cookies, sandwiches, coffee, and custom cakes. No cash.
Sweet Adeline has been fueling the CSS team with treats and caffeinated beverages since it opened across the street from the office. Throughout the year, they so generously donate treats to volunteers and at CSS community events like our recent Weaving Together Conference: Meeting the Unmet Grief Needs in Alameda County.
So stop by before the race, there's something here for everyone!

| Arizmendi Bakery on Lakeshore Worker-owned bakery offering artisan breads, morning pastries and gourmet pizza, prepared right in front of you and brought fresh from the ovens daily. They focus on providing healthy food using straightforward recipes and quality ingredients. For lunch or dinner, they offer a unique vegetarian pizza of the day featuring seasonal vegetables, infused oils, and fresh herbs on organic, thin sourdough crust. As official sponsors of Crisis Support Services of Alameda County, we donate a portion of our monthly proceeds to suicide prevention and crisis support services to help nurture a community that cares. We offer a 10% off plants discount to teachers, mental health specialists, and social workers.

The vegetable, vegan and meat dishes are served in the form of wot, a thick stew, or tibs, a sautee of a grilled meat along with vegetables, served over injera. Join Crisis Support Services and our neighbors at Gifted Spider for a special heart-themed flash day in honor of Healing Hearts. Owner and artist Paul Taylor believes that tattoos are healing— and his sessions often offer space to process, reflect, and reclaim. With a thoughtful, caring bedside manner and deep empathy for his clients' stories, Paul creates more than art—he creates moments of meaning.
On Healing Hearts Day, Gifted Spider is offering 30-minute heart-themed sessions (60 minutes in and out) available by appointment or walk-ins are also welcome. First come, first serve. Flash designs range from $100-$150, with black and grey or color options. DM on IG to reserve your spot and submit a deposit. A percentage of the proceeds will benefit Crisis Support Services of Alameda County.
