SHARON PEARSALL

EVA AND MANES LICHTENBERG AWARD FOR TRADITIONAL LANDSCAPE IN OIL

Sharon Pearsall, winner of the $1,000 Eva and Manes Lichtenberg Award for Traditional Landscape in Oil, said that while growing up, she was drawn to art and nature as a child. “I would become immersed staring at trees on long car rides or spending my time at the beach watching the waves crash. I painted and drew alone in my room.” Elements of these vivid memories can be found in the pensive atmosphere of her painting “Reflecting on Bathing Dock.”

Pearsall has been a resident artist member of Salmagundi Club (since 2007), the Art Students’ League of New York, and Oil Painters of America. She’s an elected member of American Artists’ Professional League and the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club. Pearsall owned and operated “Chelsea A Place for Artists,” a gallery and studio in Huntington, NY, where she exhibited, instructed and hosted numerous workshops taught by world-class artists. She received the Sylvia Glesmann award for Floral and Still Life from the Salmagundi Art Club and has been a recipient of awards from The Art Students' League in NYC, The Art Guild in Port Washington, NY, and The Bayard Cutting Aboretum in Oakdale.
