Session Description: Discussing the role of Behavioral Health Advocates in care navigation and coordination for expansion of Integrated Behavioral Health. How to train, support, supervise and integrate these team members. 

Barbra Corcoran, LCSW, LAC, PMH-C has had a 30-year career in human services.  Barb graduated from the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work Western Colorado Program in 2015.  She is currently the Behavioral Health Director at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.  She has worked in a variety of fields including domestic violence, child welfare, the Intellectual/Developmental Disability system, Substance Use Disorder treatment, community organizing and health care.  Barb has spent the last 10 years refining her integrated behavioral health skills in several health care settings—Federally Qualified Health Centers, Women’s Healthcare and has been and Adjunct Faculty at DU GSSW.

Compassion Fatigue: Strategies for the Helping Professional

Session Description: This session, “Compassion Fatigue: Strategies for the Helping Professional,” is designed to raise awareness about the emotional toll of caregiving roles, particularly in healthcare. It explores the distinction between compassion fatigue and burnout, encourages self-reflection, and introduces practical tools—like the GRACE model—to help professionals remain grounded, resilient, and connected to their values. The session emphasizes mindfulness, self-care, and the importance of supportive workplace relationships, while also identifying behaviors and habits to avoid. It is a reflective, non-interactive session aimed at helping participants recognize their own experiences and take steps toward well-being. 


Objectives: 

  1. Define compassion fatigue and distinguish it from burnout using clinical and experiential indicators. 
  2. Recognize common symptoms and personal signs of compassion fatigue and burnout. 
  3. Reflect on personal coping mechanisms and evaluate their effectiveness in managing emotional stress.
  4. Identify supportive strategies for managing compassion fatigue, including mindfulness, boundary-setting, and value alignment. 
  5. Apply the GRACE model as a practical tool for maintaining presence and compassion in high-stress interactions. 
  6. Understand what behaviors to avoid when experiencing compassion fatigue to prevent further emotional depletion. 



About the Speaker: Kylanne (Ky) Briggs, LCSW, MBA, is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Colorado and holds advanced training in perinatal mental health. She has completed graduate studies in business administration with an emphasis in healthcare management, adding to her previously earned academic degrees in Human Services and Social Work. Before joining Rocky Mountain Health Plan’s Clinical Quality Improvement team as Clinical Program Manager – Behavioral Health, Ky worked for several years in a quality assurance/compliance role. Her experience includes integrated care in a FQHC, organ and tissue donation, hospice, corrections, private practice and child welfare. Ky also spends time as an adjunct professor in MSW programs. Regardless of the setting, one passion always shines through: Ky strives to support providers in doing their best work.

Session Description:  

We will take a deep dive into the financial sustainability of Chronic Care Management (CCM) services, focusing on how to effectively implement and sustain CCM within your practice or health system. Attendees will walk through the development of a pro forma financial model, explore return on investment (ROI) analysis, and apply these concepts through real-world examples. We will also explore how to use pro formas to demonstrate financial feasibility for integrated care models, including the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM). This session will provide practical tools and strategies to support planning, billing, monitoring, and long-term success in delivering value-based, financially sustainable care. Learning

  1. Identify two essential strategies for successful fiscal sustainability and strategic planning. 
  2. Identify and critique healthcare financing and management techniques such as pro formas and ROI calculations. 
  3. Appraise and implement a specific simple ROI formula to design direct revenue return on investment calculations. 



About the Speaker: Dr. Lesley Manson, Psy.D. is an internationally recognized expert in integrated behavioral healthcare with over two decades of experience in clinical practice, healthcare management, and systems consultation. She specializes in building fiscally sustainable integrated care models with measurable improved health outcomes, return on investment, and cost savings. Dr. Manson has led multidisciplinary teams in process improvement, quality assurance, and standardization efforts that have enhanced healthcare outcomes, improved patient engagement, advanced health equity, and reduced costs. 

As Associate Chair of Integrated Initiatives and Clinical Associate Professor at Arizona State University’s Doctor of Behavioral Health program, Dr. Manson has directed multiple doctoral and master’s-level training programs, course curriculum and design, and chaired hundreds of doctoral students. She serves as the Director of Training and Implementation Science for NCR Behavioral Health and is a master trainer in the PROSPER program (Proactive Reduction of Suicides in Populations via Evidence-Based Research). Additionally, she is a master trainer in motivational interviewing and in clinician-patient communication through the Institute for Healthcare Communication. Dr. Manson regularly leads, as a subject matter expert, national and international Project ECHOs focused on integrated care delivery and long-term sustainability. 

Her work includes consultation with organizations such as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, and numerous federal and medical associations. Dr. Manson has developed extensive training programs, train-the-trainer curricula, and continuing education for primary care and behavioral health professionals. 

A former healthcare executive, she played a key role in developing integrated behavioral health components within electronic medical records and has presented internationally on the clinical and fiscal dimensions of healthcare integration. She is an active leader in professional organizations, having served as President of both the Arizona Psychological Association and the North Coast Association of Mental Health Professionals, and continues her board and committee work with the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association (CFHA). 

Dr. Manson earned her Health Care Executive Certification from the UCLA/Johnson & Johnson Health Care Executive Program, where she was selected as one of only 40 participants nationwide. Participants, senior executives from community-based healthcare organizations, engage in a rigorous but relevant curriculum that provides the requisite skills, knowledge and abilities to successfully manage health care organizations. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal publications, book chapters, and is co-author of Integrating Behavioral Health into the Medical Home.

Overview of RMHP Care Coordination Services for EPSDT Members

This presentation will provide an overview of the care coordination support and services offered by Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP) for Members eligible under the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment (EPSDT) benefit. It will highlight key care coordination interventions and strategies used to support Member needs and promote access to appropriate services. 



About the Speaker: Violet Willett is the Director of Care Management for Rocky Mountain Health Plans. Violet has been with RMHP/United Healthcare for almost 19 years in various Care Management and Utilization Management roles. Violet is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She has worked in the Medicaid/Medicare programs in Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado.  Violet has over 29 years of experience in Care Coordination, Case Management and Utilization Review. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking and live music.
