Plan to attend the Retail Launchpad Program - Information session. At this session you'll meet Nika and Alban Corbett, owners of Curate Noir and the LAEDA Women's Business Center Team. Unit 1 - Product Development & Production Process / Attendee Product Demonstrations

Tuesday June 11, 2024 - 6pm - Curate Noir - 1327 Haddon Ave., Camden, NJ


Developing a product the customers will like and, more importantly, buy is a critical first step in starting your business. Unit 1 focuses on product development and the importance of a production process that results in quality products at scale. Attendees should be prepared to showcase their product at this class.

Group - Coaching Session 1 - Pro Feedback on Branding, Packaging and Fit & Finish!

Thursday June 20, 2024 - 6pm - Curate Noir - 1327 Haddon Ave., Camden, NJ


Attendees will get feedback on their products from Nika and Alban Corbett, owners of Curate Noir. The Corbetts have curated over 100 black and browned owned businesses to be on the shelves at their Moorestown and Camden showrooms. Participants will benefit from their keen eye for high design and actionable feedback on marketing and style to take their product to the next level.

Unit 2 - Understanding the Power of Marketing & Customer Cultivation Strategy

Thursday June 27, 2024 - 6pm - Curate Noir - 1327 Haddon Ave., Camden, NJ


Understanding your target customer and choosing the right public markets/ vending events is critical to your success. During Unit 2, attendees will learn how to create an ideal customer profile and how to determine which public market or online platform makes the most sense. Nika and Alban will lead attendees through exercises to create a successful client cultivation strategy that turns customer names and contact information into sales.

Group - Coaching Session 2 - Progress Check-in, Logos, Imagery and Color Palette!

Tuesday July 2, 2024 - 6pm - Curate Noir - 1327 Haddon Ave., Camden, NJ


This coaching session is dedicated to checking in on participant progress in implementing feedback and recommendations received in the previous session. Nika and Alban will review logos, imagery, and the color palette used in brand development. This is where a hobby starts to transition to a business.

Unit 3 - Sales Channels for the Side Hustle Business

Thursday July 11, 2024 - 6pm - Curate Noir - 1327 Haddon Ave., Camden, NJ


When starting a business, keeping overhead costs down is important. Unit 3 focuses on three low cost sales channels where you can sell your products; public markets, online sales platforms and retail accelerators. Attendees will learn how public markets work, best practices in setting up a vendor stand, how to create an e-commerce presence on a budget, and the benefits of a retail accelerator like Curate Noir.

Group - Coaching Session 3 - Social Media, Vendor Presentation & Sales Infrastructure!

Tuesday July 16, 2024 - 6pm - Curate Noir - 1327 Haddon Ave., Camden, NJ


This coaching session is dedicated to reviewing your social media presence and making recommendations to drive brand loyalty. Attendees will setup their vending table presentation and receive feedback on how to present your product line and attract customers at public markets. Nika and Alban will walk attendees through the various online options to support their sales.

Unit 4 - Money, Bank & Credit

Thursday July 18, 2024 - VIRTUAL VIA ZOOM - 6pm


Successful businesses plan for future growth. Preparing yourself financially for the success we hope you will have is the focus of Unit 4. You will learn about the role of personal credit in your growth plan, the importance of creating a banking relationship, and the role of capital in growing your side hustle into a full-time enterprise.

One on One - Coaching Session 4 - SMART Goalsetting, Personal & Business Finance

Week of July 22, 2024 - VIRTUAL VIA ZOOM - By Appointment


This one on one session is dedicated to reviewing the SMART Goal framework and setting goals for the business. Attendees are introduced to basic financial tools to start building the business' financial infrastructure and framing their personal financial picture through a budget. LAEDA WBC team members will meet with each attendee to set goals and create personal & business budgets.

Unit 5 - Business Administration & Bookkeeping

Thursday July 25, 2024 - VIRTUAL VIA ZOOM - 6pm


Committing to keeping accurate records of all sales and expenses is the foundation for ensuring your business’ future success. Written transactions serve as a documented history of your business’ daily performance. In Unit 5, attendees will learn best practices for record-keeping practices and how to those records as a tool to make future business decisions.

One on One - Coaching Session 5 - Preparation for Pitch & Vending Table Competition

Week of July 29, 2024 - By Appointment - Curate Noir - 1327 Haddon Ave., Camden, NJ


This one on one session is dedicated to attendees presenting their business pitch and setting up their vending table for review by the program team. Curate Noir and the LAEDA WBC team will provide feedback and recommendations in preparation for the final Business Pitch & Vending Table Competition.

Unit 6 - Pitch & Vending Table Competition & Celebration

Thursday August 1, 2024 - 6pm - Curate Noir - 1327 Haddon Ave., Camden, NJ


You have made it! We've spent eight weeks working to improve your business. Unit 6 is where it all comes together. On this night, attendees will compete for a Launchpad Prize worth $500 and the opportunity to have product placed on the shelves of Curate Noir. Attendees will be judged on their business pitch and their vending table presentation. Attendees are encouraged to invite their friends and family to see them pitch and maybe win.
