Ricky Persaud, Jr. is a summa cum laude graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, which he attended via a four-year scholarship. Ricky, now a Berklee graduate student in film scoring/composition is also an alumnus of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center/Wells Fargo Teen Jazz Ensemble, the George Wein Scholars Ensemble, and a recipient of the New Jersey Governor’s Award for Excellence in Music. Ricky attended GRAMMY CAMP®, GRAMMY U®, and is a Voting Member of The Recording Academy®/GRAMMYS®, a Member of Actors’ Equity Association, and of Local 802 AFM.


Ricky began studying music at the age of four years old. He is an adept multi-instrumentalist. Ricky is a Global Music Award Winner, an Indie Music Channel Award Winner, and a multiple gold medalist with the NAACP ACT-SO Youth Program. He has produced, written, and composed six solo albums and two EPs, all as solo multi-instrumentalist and vocalist.


Ricky has worked with Ray Chew, who is the music director of ABC's Dancing with the Stars, Tony® Winner & Emmy® Winner Debbie Gravitte, Emmy® Winner Eileen Bluestone Sherman & Regina Belle, Savion Glover, George Clinton, Donnie Harper and the late Cissy Houston.


Ricky has also worked with nine-time Grammy® Award Winner Christian McBride, Grammy® Award Winners Masa Takumi, Lucy Kalantari, Joanie Leeds, Jon Samson, Ryoji Hata, Hideki Kodera, Latin Grammy® Nominee & Grammy® Nominee Flor Bromley, Judy Pancoast, Dave Stringer, Charu Suri, Chris Redding & Mega Ran. Ricky worked on two projects that were nominated for Grammy Awards in 2026.


Ricky has performed at Newark Symphony Hall, The Cutting Room, The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
