Turnkey

It's very easy to look at the landscape today and take for granted what was not always available in the past. This is especially true for learning management systems. We often say that we've been helping law firms produce better lawyers for over 20 years, and we have. But have you ever considered the technological landscape more than two decades ago?

During that time LMSs were in the marketplace, however, they were primarily leveraged and designed to serve education institutions - specialized learning was not a 'thing'. Moreover, if you wanted a learning management system, you weren't going to find one as sophisticated or user-friendly as you would today.

Considering these factors, Mr. Barshinger's vision of UniversitySite was most certainly ground-breaking. A platform that culminates the delivery of training and content from a variety of sources including technology, Continuing Legal Education (CLE), professional development, and compliance training. Thus providing a range of features tailor-made to address the specific needs and workflows of legal professionals. Michael Barshinger has always had a high standard for himself and, being a former IT director, he understood that creating a reliable Learning Management System was something he could not compromise. Having a rich history of how law firms operate, being able to overcome the common hurdles they experience came easily. Instead, another area of reliability was required was required - a reliable supporting cast.

Dynamic

If we were to ask our business partners to provide their meaning of the word 'dynamic', we would have an abundance of different iterations for the word. It's the true, due to the subjective nature of the word, everyone will have a different perspective or spin on what's 'dynamic' to them. So, we asked our founder/owner, Michael Barshinger what it means to him as it pertains to UniversitySite.

Because everyone has such a different viewpoint of what's considered dynamic, one of the key strengths that UniversitySite offers is its ability to dynamically present relevant and meaningful leaning opportunities to employees based on their job roles and geo-location. This is critical and allows the freedom to speak to each silo within a law firm.

For example, an attorney in New York would not have the same learning interests as a legal secretary or someone working in the accounting department. Said attorney would be drawn to a program recently completed by a peer or partner, while the secretary would be drawn to more reporting and overall legal studies to advance/develop their skills. You can leverage this dynamic feature to your firm's employees' specific needs.

Responsive

UniversitySite is a very responsive software. Our Community of Business Partners speaks very highly of our platform, however, there are two areas of responsiveness aligning with our internal goals that we will highlight.

The first area is responding to requests from partners for help, training, and advice. The second area is responding to Community feature requests. We have specific quarterly and yearly goals aligned with delivering new capabilities vetted and voted on through our Community.
