A publication of the Stark Tuscarawas Workforce Development Board

October is Manufacturing Month

Manufacturing plays a vital role in Stark and Tuscarawas counties, supporting local businesses, creating jobs and contributing to the strength of our regional economy.

A career in manufacturing can offer opportunities for creativity, problem-solving, skill development, career growth and stability, with a wide range of roles across engineering, technology, maintenance, quality, logistics and leadership.

Manufacturing Month is an opportunity to recognize the people and businesses that contribute to a strong manufacturing workforce and the important role the industry plays in our local communities and economy.

Career Foundry Connects Job Seekers to Manufacturing Careers

Career Foundry is giving local job seekers a firsthand look at manufacturing careers and workplaces before they apply for a job.

This new career exploration opportunity kicked off September 23rd, providing participants with opportunities to visit local employers, learn about available jobs and career pathways, and talk directly with employees. As part of the Career Connect participant pathway, Career Foundry helps individuals explore workplace culture and expectations and make informed decisions about whether a career in manufacturing is the right fit.

Career Foundry is made possible through a partnership between the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, Stark County Manufacturing Development Partnership, and Stark Tuscarawas Workforce Development Board's Career Connect initiative. Together, the organizations are helping connect local talent with meaningful career opportunities while strengthening the region’s manufacturing workforce.

Workforce Trends Dashboard Highlights

What information does this Dashboard share?

The “Population Trend and Forecast” shows historical population changes and projected growth or decline for the selected geographic area, helping identify demographic shifts over time.

How is this helpful?

Understanding how a community’s population is changing can help workforce and community partners plan for what’s ahead. The Population Trend and Forecast provides historical and projected population data, making it easier to identify shifts in population size and anticipate future growth or decline. This information can help inform decisions around workforce needs, education and training, services, and community planning.

This Dashboard can be “filtered” by Workforce Area (Stark and Tuscarawas) or by individual County (Stark or Tuscarawas).
