| Getting Attention for Prevention Thursday, July 23rd | 11:30am in Mountain Time
We can all imagine the world we want to live in, where safe, healthy, respectful relationships are the norm. What will it take to get there? An important first step is changing the narrative about domestic violence and illustrating that work to prevent violence isn't just possible - it's happening every day. But narrative change doesn't happen through a single campaign or message; it is built over time through intentional, values-driven communications that reinforce the world we are working to create. In this interactive workshop, participants will explore Berkeley Media Studies Group's (BMSG) strategic communications framework, and how everyday communications (like messages that center solutions, stories that are framed to illustrate the scope of prevention, and narratives that inspire hope and transformation) can contribute to long-term narrative and policy change.
Participants will leave with tools to build their own values-based messages, and a clearer understanding of how their organization's communications can advance lasting change.
