The working world has drastically changed in 2020, with a shift toward a largely work-from-home reality. The same workplace challenges exist in a remote environment, but the way in which these issues are tackled has changed. Skillsoft is offering courses on managing a remote team and handling discrimination and harassment to help companies adjust to working from home.
Managing a team is difficult, but managing a team remotely is even more challenging. With more companies asking employees to work from home and in-person industry events going virtual, COVID-19 has created an immediate need to rethink work processes. To ensure the safety and health of their workforce, while facilitating business continuity, organizations must adapt in real time to ensure remote teams are engaged, virtual collaboration is productive, and necessary compliance standards are met. Skillsoft created the ‘What’s Next for Managers Handbook’ to help guide your decision making as you prepare yourself and your team for new ways of working. Skillsoft’s other course, “A Guide to Managing Your Remote Team” gives lessons on how to best support your team, tips to offer employees on managing stress, and how to advise your team around home office ergonomics.
Discrimination and harassment at work, whether working on site or remotely, can have a corrosive effect on an organization’s culture and can lead to low employee morale, reduced productivity, and even criminal liability. The Workplace Harassment Skillsoft training will explore workplace harassment in the context of a remote (online) work environment. This course was developed with subject matter support provided by the Potomac Law Group, PLLC.
