The Year-Round Program

Supports local young adults between the ages of 16 to 24 choose and prepare for a career. The year-round program provides support services, industry training and paid work experience for up to eight weeks. Towns include Bridgeport, Shelton, Stratford, Stamford, Norwalk, Greenwich, Fairfield, Trumbull, Derby, Ansonia, Seymour, and more!


For Youth-by-Youth Podcast - Have you ever wondered how to get started in the world of Podcasting? Well, Podcasting could be your start to a new career opportunity. The Podcast Business Is Booming - During this training, you will learn all about podcasting and the media skills you will need to conduct your podcast or how to work behind the scenes. Learn what equipment is needed to run your podcast and how to use it. Podcast topics will review issues important to this generation, such as the importance of mental health and the impact of covid on your city, your family, and you. 


Platform to Employment Youth

“Platform to Employment Youth” is a comprehensive youth preparation program that will help prepare and connect youth with industry sector training and employment opportunities. Stay tuned - Applications will go live soon!


Summer Earn & Learn Training Program for Youth & Young Adults

The Career Hub accepts applications for the Summer Earn & Learn Employment Program in February through mid-April. The program is available to young adults (14-24) living in one of the 20 towns that The WorkPlace serves. The program is an opportunity for young adults to earn wages during summer vacation, hone workforce skills, and receive valuable experience while exploring various occupational paths. Participants are paid 20 hours weekly at minimum wage for up to seven weeks. The program also provides year-round employment support for youth. Applications are now closed – all registered attendees will receive an email when applications open.
