Executive Director of the

Christian Conference Center


The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the Upper Midwest is seeking an Executive Director of the Christian Conference Center (CCC) in Newton, IA.


Primary responsibilities include

  • Oversight of CCC activities, including usage by regional camps, churches, and outside groups
  • Onsite supervision and administrative leadership of regional church camps
  • Hiring and managing year-round and seasonal CCC staff
  • Supervision of the facilities and over 200 acre grounds of the CCC
  • Direction of CCC finances, including budgeting, contact with volunteers, and development
  • Assistance with all aspects of the CCC operations, including facility and grounds, housekeeping, event hosting, and dining services
  • Representing the CCC and regional church camps to our Upper Midwest region’s congregations, the Newton community, and guest groups


Qualifications

  • Affirmation of the welcoming ministry of the CCC and the overall ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the Upper Midwest
  • Passion for outdoor and hospitality ministries
  • Passion for summer church camp
  • Ability to work well with teams to accomplish goals
  • Ability to interact professionally with all guests and groups
  • Highly organized
  • Knowledge of and ability to use conflict management skills
  • Ability to communicate well in person, in writing, and through online platforms


Additional Information

  • The position does not require standing as an ordained or commissioned minister. However, ministry experience would be valued in a candidate.

The Christian Conference Center is a beautiful location that hosts church gatherings, camps, weddings, receptions, family reunions, quilting retreats, business retreats, and much more.
