You Can Prevent Type 2 Diabetes |
This August, Wellness 4 Prevention will begin two new National Diabetes Prevention Programs, one in Lee's Summit at the Gamber Community Center and one in Grandview at The View Community Center. The NDPP is fully covered for prediabetic individuals on Medicare/Medicaid and self-pay of $910. The NDPP is 26 sessions and is proven to reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes by 58% amongst individuals completing the program.

Healthcare Exploration Day at Lee's Summit Medical Center |
Lee’s Summit Medical Center’s annual Healthcare Exploration Day, which hosts nearly 80 kindergartners through 12th-grade students for a day of inspiration for their future careers, took place Friday, July 19. This year, Lee's Summit Medical Center's respiratory department demonstrated on pig lungs how lungs function and the role a respiratory therapist plays in helping a patient. |
