| This Sunday we will kick off the Season of Creation here at UCC Fort Lauderdale. This is a special season in the liturgical calendar that honors the earth, renews our commitment to our Creator, and strengthens our work to protect the environment.
Last year, we celebrated different ecosystems (forest, field, ocean, and desert) and the year before that it was the four elements (air, water, soil, and fire).
This year, we are going a bit more cosmic, as we’ll be reflecting on the sun, moon, stars, and planet. Each Sunday we will weave readings, hymns, prayers, and my sermon with these themes. I hope each Sunday will leave you inspired and grateful for God’s created world.
Please join us, either in person or online for the next four weeks! And be on the lookout for some special events and ministries about the season, including a book club and a field trip! |

After Labor Day, we welcome back, Coffee Talk (Monday mornings), Women's Circle, Men's Circle and Grief Counseling. Our Flea Market starts up again on September 12th and every second Saturday of the month.
Some events to look forward to are the South Florida Conference of Churches ("Sacred Connections") here at our UCC on September 19th; ALL ARE WELCOME (See pre-registration info below), we have Bold Justice "Sacred Conversations" (dates to be announced), and our All Church Town Hall after Worship Service on September 13th, where we will receive updates about the church, our ministries, our finances, and some exciting plans we have for the fall and Advent season for UCC Fort Lauderdale!

AND We are looking forward to a book study and conversation about creation justice as we read through Pope Francis’ encyclical “Laudato Si: On Care for Our Common Home.” You can pick up a copy of the book for $10 in the church office or order your own. The book study is on multiple Sunday dates prior to Worship Service (September 13, 20, 27 at 9:15am in the Conference Room).

Creation Justice Book Study Laudato Si by Pope Francis Sundays, September 13, 20, 27 at 9:15 a.m. Conference Room
Join us for a study and conversation about creation justice as we read through Pope Francis’ encyclical “Laudato Si: On Care for Our Common Home.” You can pick up a copy of the book for $10 in the church office, or order your own. For our first session, we will be discussing the introduction and chapters 1 and 2 (paragraphs 1-100). |

| SACRED CONNECTIONS Saturday, September 19th 9am-3pm ELLIOTT HALL
Our UCC will once again be hosting the Florida Conference for a day of reflection and planning for our future. A faith workshop welcoming featured speaker and author Tenneson Woolf who discusses concepts and practices from his book, "Gifts of Circle: Connection, Courage, Compassionate Action." A light breakfast and luncheon will be served.

- AT&T West Side Parking Lot & the Parking spaces along NE 30th Place (Do not block the stairs)
- CASA MONARCA Parking Lot (Only until noon)
- OVERFLOW PARKING: Parking Lot next to our East Church Parking lot (Entrance off of NE 30th Place)
- We do not recommend parking in the shopping center across from the Church (Park at your own risk)
- There is also FREE parking in front of the businesses along East Oakland Park Blvd (street side only)
- PLEASE do not park on the grassy areas
