The Center for STEAM Advancement Collaborative successfully completed year one of the four year program. In Year two, partners are bringing new and revised high quality STEAM based activities and learning opportunities into local Hartford neighborhoods for youth, kindergarten through college, and beyond. This collaborative project aims to enhance the career development pipeline, strengthen parent engagement and create a seamless level of mentoring and guidance for Hartford’s youth. Each partner organization is bringing their existing mission, strengths and community relationships to the project.
- Hartford Youth Scholars, added a permanent addition to their program with a responsive curriculum in geometry and algebra. The Collegiate Academy started Saturday sessions, high school selections are underway, and college acceptance letters arriving.
- Greater Hartford YMCA Teen Tech Center, has relocated the Teen Tech Center internally and revamped the Recording Tech Program; which includes music technology.
- Legacy Foundation of Hartford, added more teachers and new clubs such as hands-on robotics, personal finance and a videography & photography program to meet the demands. In March, Saturday Academy sessions will be at Hillyer College at University of Hartford, to accommodate the 50% increase in scholars. Plus, purchasing a van to accommodate the increasing transportation needs
- Hartford Parent University, offers Saturday Learning Sessions January through April.
- The Children's Museum, started their Winter and Spring programming with Catholic Charities Family Centers and Hartford Public Libraries.
