Hello Church Family,

Thanks be to God for our Church and the freedom to worship openly and share our faith – a privilege that many of our brothers and sisters around the world do not have.

Especially this week, let’s turn our attention to praying with and for the persecuted church around the world. The Voice of the Martyrs is a group dedicated to keeping their voices heard. This weekend, Sunday, November 1st, is set aside as an International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church.

Did you know there are more than 388 million Christians worldwide who face high levels of persecution and discrimination—even death—because of their faith in Jesus?

If we or our families were in their shoes, would we not appreciate the continual prayers on our behalf? Of course we would, and that’s exactly what the scriptures teach in Hebrews 13:3 (NIV): “Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.”

As you pray and intervene on their behalf, here are some of their requests to keep in mind and fervently pray into:

  • Protection over them and their families, and delivering them from persecution.
  • For the Lord to intervene in every area of their lives to provide for their needs.
  • Stand against hopelessness and frustration so that they would see God’s miracle-working power in every situation.
  • Pray for restoration, unwavering faith, dependence on God, and courage to continue sharing the gospel.
  • Pray that the Lord would rebuild all that the enemy has destroyed.
  • Restore their dignity through education, purpose, and empowerment.
  • God’s peace and justice in every situation.

According to 1 Corinthians 12:26, we are one body with them in Christ Jesus. Therefore, when they suffer, we all suffer with them. Lord, hear our collective prayers.

I encourage you to check out their website for further details and understanding of their situations and their needs. Go to: https://www.vomcanada.com

Blessings,

Pastor Audrey

Jeremiah & Gerose – Time Away

Jeremiah & Gerose Latina came to Living Springs Church two years ago. From the beginning, they showed their desire to serve Jesus in any way He asked. They currently lead in worship and Youth Ministry in Moose Jaw, and Jeremiah supports worship and tech in both locations. What some of you may not know is that there have been prophetic words spoken over their lives pertaining to leadership in our church. One example was in the Moose Jaw location. On a Saturday night, a member of the church had a dream clearly showing a Filipino man in a leadership role in our church. The next day, Jeremiah & Gerose visited Moose Jaw for the first time. When the person saw Jeremiah, he approached Pastor Rob and told him, "I had a dream about that guy last night - he was a leader in our church."

We affirm the calling on their lives and in our church. To that end, we are excited to be working on job offers and supporting their immigration to Canada. As part of the immigration process, they are required to return to the Philippines for a number of months. Their last Sunday will be October 4th. We have worked with them to ensure that the roles that they currently fill in our church will be supported in their absence. Please join us in keeping Jeremiah & Gerose, and the immigration process, in prayer. We are grateful for the Lord's favour and continued guidance as He directs our steps.
