May 4th Spring Clean Up at Trinity!

The Earth care team is calling for a service day to pick up litter and do some weeding in the woods walking trail. We will meet in the parking lot by the preschool playground at 10 AM, Saturday, May 4th (rain date May 11th). Stay for an hour or two! Please bring gardening gloves and wear long sleeves and pants and closed toe shoes. All ages welcome, but parents please keep an eye on your children.

Specifics:

What time to show up? 10 am and work for one hour or two hours.

What to bring? Long sleeve pants and shirts and if you have gardening gloves, please bring those. We will try to have some extra gloves on hand as well. Please wear closed toed shoes, not sandals or clogs. Bring your own water bottle, and we will have water for refills.

Who can come? As long as there is a parent, any age is welcome for litter pick up. You will need to supervise your own child and hopefully have gloves for them. There is litter all around the parking lot and along the Walking trails.

What else will be done? For those people who are gardeners, there are still some invasive weeds that can be pulled, and they will be identified with yellow landscape paint.

What tools should we bring? If you’re interested in helping us pull some weeds and some invasive plants,, bring your own gardening gloves, and a shovel or hand trowel. You must be an adult to participate in the weed pulling activity.

What about poison ivy? Poison ivy will be painted with red landscape paint so that we can avoid those areas altogether. There will be designated work areas that are completely ivy free.

What kind of debris will we have to haul away and do I have to have some special equipment? No special equipment, except for some strong arms. We will only clear debris if it’s in the way of walking paths and we will just throw the debris further into the woods. We will mainly be clearing some dry limbs away further into the woods. Please wear hiking boots and long pants
