Arboretum and Botanical Garden


Learn about UMD's Arboretum and Botanical Garden and discuss its global and local impact with academic leaders. Attendees will gather first for a preview screening of Wild Hope followed by a discussion about UMD's environmental stewardship and sustainable practices. Following the presentation, attendees can explore the UMD Arboretum and Gardens at their own pace.

Assateague Island

National Seashore


Join us on Assateague to learn about the wild ponies that have taken residence on this barrier island. This event includes a presentation about these beautiful animals and how the park manages the population while protecting and maintaining the land. Following the presentation, attendees will also have access to enjoy exploring Assateague Island!

The stories featured in Wild Hope will inspire audiences worldwide to discover, elevate, and support efforts of real conservation success. The modern crisis of biodiversity loss is massive, but the solutions are working — and these stories inspire hope that biodiversity can and will be restored.
