Expert care for Bolivar R-1

Bolivar R-1 students and staff can receive acute care through telehealth visits during school hours, Monday-Friday.

In-school telehealth visits will help determine if the student or staff member can stay at school or needs to go home.

In-school telehealth visits could include:

  • Sore throat
  • Sinus
  • Stomach aches
  • Skin problems
  • Strep test
  • COVID test
  • Flu

The telehealth appointments are with providers from CMH Pediatric Clinic and CMH Butterfield Park Medical Center. Each appointment will be assisted by an on-site Navigator provided by CMH.

The on-site Bolivar School's Navigator will help with visits to ensure each telehealth visit is timely and effective.

Parents can participate in the telehealth visits from their home or workplace and must give consent for a child to participate in the visit.

Visits are covered by most local and major insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Without insurance, the in-school telehealth visits will cost $30.

The Bolivar School's Navigator will be available by phone Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., when school is in session.

For more information about the program, parents can call or text the on-site CMH navigator at 417-516-4262.

How does it work?

In-school telehealth visits are easy and accompanied by the Bolivar School's Navigator to ensure the visit goes smoothly, whether with a student or employee.

For a Student:

  1. The school nurse will contact you (the parent or guardian) if your child is not feeling well and could benefit from a CMH telehealth visit.
  2. Next, the Navigator will schedule a telehealth visit with a provider from the CMH Pediatric Clinic through the CMH patient portal and send you an email invitation to the telehealth visit.
  3. Once you log in for your child's visit, you will sign the consent form for your child to be seen. This form will ask permission for your child to be seen by a CMH provider via telehealth visit and potentially be tested for flu, COVID, or strep.
  4. The CMH provider will conduct the visit and let you know if your child is healthy enough to stay at school or requires further lab tests at the clinic in person.

For a Bolivar R-1 Employee:

  1. As an employee, you will contact the school nurse in your building, who will then connect you with the Navigator to assist in the telehealth visit if needed.
  2. Next, you will log in to your CMH Patient Portal; if you do not have one, the Navigator will help you sign up for an account. The Navigator will then schedule a telehealth visit with a Butterfield Park Medical Center medical provider.
  3. The CMH provider will conduct the visit and let you know if you are healthy enough to stay at school or require further lab tests at the clinic in person.
