France’s largest organic wine region is taking over the New York food scene! Straight from the Mediterranean coast, the region of Languedoc offers a wide range of reds, whites, rosé and even sparkling varieties with a Southern French character that stands apart. Even better: Languedoc accounts for a third of France's organic vines, making wine that's both delicious and environmentally friendly. Why are Languedoc wines all the rage with New York City wine insiders? When asked why he loves Languedoc, David Berube, Assistant Head Sommelier at Restaurant Daniel, commented "...Languedoc is full of surprises but also great reminder to everyone on the quality and freshness of these wonderful wines defined by nature."
On the winemaking in the region Berube says, it "has never been better, this shows in the diversity of styles and distinct sense of place the wines speak. Their prices are so appealing even at the higher echelon and everyone's wine list should enjoy this opportunity to provide top values to our customers''
Stop by Contento, Harlem Wine Gallery, Corkbuzz Union Square, or Riverview wines to taste these wines by the glass, at a late night happy hour or in a flight! |
