| To Obey in Patience
“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” - James 1:4 KJV
Patience is not defined as waiting and doing nothing; that is wasting time. Patience is carefully doing what you need to do while waiting on the Lord’s perfect time.
At the very start of our Christian journey, all of us are very excited about living for Jesus Christ. All of us want to shine God’s glory in our lives like gold. However, refining gold is a process; a process that takes out lots of impurities, which really requires patience.
Recently and presently, God is teaching me and my beautiful wife, Gerose, what it means to be patient. We realized that God never rushed into anything. He is gentle, and at the same time, He is very intentional. He has plans, and He is patient. He waits in His perfect time, but He is not passive.
“Behold, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” - Psalms 121:4 KJV
At first, we thought that patience is trusting the Lord while waiting. Yes, it is, but it is so challenging when what’s happening looks like the opposite of what God has promised. God is always working in our lives. We may not see it yet, but in His perfect time, He will reveal it. That is what patience is all about. Waiting and trusting in what God has said will happen, even when what you see is the opposite. God is always faithful, and He always will be.
When you let doubt enter your being, you’ll start asking God, “Where are You, Lord?” You might start thinking negatively and end up forgetting what the Lord has spoken to your life. It is so exhausting when we doubt God’s promise. Unbelief in God might result in restlessness due to overthinking. On the opposite side, waiting upon the Lord and trusting that He is always in control will calibrate your heart, soul, mind, and body.
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” - Isaiah 40:31
I personally encourage you today to “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” - Proverbs 5:6 NIV
I trust that the Lord has already gone before you today and filled your path full of favor!

Jeremiah & Gerose – Time Away
Jeremiah & Gerose Latina came to Living Springs Church two years ago. From the beginning, they showed their desire to serve Jesus in any way He asked. They currently lead in worship and Youth Ministry in Moose Jaw, and Jeremiah supports worship and tech in both locations. What some of you may not know is that there have been prophetic words spoken over their lives pertaining to leadership in our church. One example was in the Moose Jaw location. On a Saturday night, a member of the church had a dream clearly showing a Filipino man in a leadership role in our church. The next day, Jeremiah & Gerose visited Moose Jaw for the first time. When the person saw Jeremiah, he approached Pastor Rob and told him, "I had a dream about that guy last night - he was a leader in our church."
We affirm the calling on their lives and in our church. To that end, we are excited to be working on job offers and supporting their immigration to Canada. As part of the immigration process, they are required to return to the Philippines for a number of months. Their last Sunday will be October 4. We have worked with them to ensure that the roles that they currently fill in our church will be supported in their absence. Please join us in keeping Jeremiah & Gerose, and the immigration process, in prayer. We are grateful for the Lord's favour and continued guidance as He directs our steps. |
