Storage Accounts
Each user profile in the RSG system is associated with one or more storage accounts through the assignment of a role within each account. If you signed up with RSG on your own, a storage account was automatically created for you. If you signed up as an invitation to work with someone else's account, it's likely that you do not have a personal storage account. At any time you may choose to create a new storage account by selecting the '+ Create Account' option found at the bottom of the account context drop down list.
When you create a new account, you enter basic information about the account including the account name (Business/Farm Name), contact information, and confirm that you agree to RSG's rates, terms, and policies.
Once the account is created, you will have the Account Owner role and will be able to manage all things related to the account.
Dashboard and User Profile
Dashboard
When you sign into the RSG application you will first see a dashboard containing information about the storage account, recent inventory acquisitions, and transactions waiting to be processed by RSG.
User Profile
Your user profile information is displayed in the upper-left portion of the Dashboard screen, where you can click the pencil icon to edit your profile information or drop down the account list to switch context between multiple storage accounts.
When editing your profile information you can upload a profile image, reset your password, and keep other information up to date.

Account Settings
Users with an Account Owner or Account Admin role can edit and update the account settings including addresses and payment details.
Pricing and Billing
Pricing
RSG clients are billed at the end of each month based on their average daily account balance.
Upon Sign-Up, clients will be asked to acknowledge the pricing tiers as detailed above and provide a credit card or ACH information to be held on file for automatic monthly payments.
Grace Period
Billing will not start until the first day of the following month after signing up for a new account. As a non-client who purchases inventory from a customer, I am required to set up an account to complete the purchase. The grace period is a courtesy to those clients who do not want to store their new inventory at RSG.
Inventory
Animal Profile
Inventory is presented by Animal. When you click to view the animal profile you can see information about the sire or donor animal and a list of the inventory lots you own, which were produced by the animal. Pay attention to the animal code, name, and inventory lot date/number information as these details are the key references to the inventory you own. From here you can choose to Sell, Withdraw, Use, or Discard inventory.
Quantities Explained
Quantity Owned is shown in two places on the Animal Profile screen: in the animal details section, and for each inventory line item listed. In the animal details section, the quantity owned is the sum total owned by the account. In the Inventory Items section, quantity owned refers to the quantity of that item (lot).
Available Quantity is shown per item and is a calculated amount of quantity owned less any pending transactions for that item.
Taking Action
Sell/ Transfer
Selling or transferring of inventory occurs between an account that is selling, transferring or donating a quantity of an inventory units to an account that is acquiring that inventory. This function is used to describe a transaction that reduces the inventory of one account and increases the inventory of another. A Sell/ Transfer transaction is initiated by an account team member and completes automatically if the buyer or acquiring account exists.
Note:
Until the code is used to claim the inventory, the inventory remains 'owned' by but not 'available' to the selling/ transfer account.
A pending transaction reduces Available inventory quantity for the original owner of the units.
Example below of confirmation email to purchaser of inventory auto generated by the inventory platform.
Sell/ Transfer:
Select one or more lots to sell or transfer from
Specify the quantity you want to sell or transfer from each selected lot
You cannot specify more than the available quantity of the lot, or total quantity owned.
Enter the e-mail address of the buyer or person you wish to transfer too and click the magnifying glass to search.
If the person is found in the system, their information is displayed as a confirmation.
The person you are selling or transferring to may have more than one storage account- select which account you are selling or transferring to.
If the person is not found in the system, enter additional information for them:
First name, last name, and Phone number
When you click submit, the person will receive an e-mail containing a Sell Code and an invitation to set up an RSG storage account. Once they set up an RSG account, they can use the Sell Code to claim their inventory and complete the process. **
Optionally choose a Sell/ Transfer type. The type field is provided for your own reference and the selection made is appended to the transaction notes field.
Optionally enter Notes about this transaction.
Click Submit to process the transaction.
** If the person you are selling or transferring to never claims their inventory, contact RSG to cancel the pending transaction.
Withdraw (Ship/ Pick Up)
Like a bank account, withdrawing inventory removes that inventory from the RSG system entirely. A withdraw transaction is initiated by a customer and fulfilled by RSG. RSG either ships the inventory or makes it available for customers to pick up.
Do not use Withdraw function for scheduling semen to ship to a RSG Host site or to be used at RSG's facilities. Please use "Use" for those purposes.
Note:
A Withdraw transaction is pending until completed by RSG, and in that state reduces Available inventory quantity in your account.
Withdraw:
Select one or more lots to withdraw from
Specify the quantity you want to withdraw from each selected lot
You cannot specify more than the available quantity of the lot, or total quantity owned.
Optionally enter notes.
Select to have the withdrawn inventory shipped or picked up
If you select 'Ship to Address':
Enter shipping information.
If you select 'Pickup':
Enter the name and phone number of the person who will pick up the inventory.
Optionally enter a date you wish the inventory to be ready for pick up.
Click Submit to create a pending Withdraw transaction.
Use Inventory
Use transactions -in most cases- are initiated by the customer and completed by RSG. RSG completes a pending Use by checking out the inventory required to fulfill the Use request, this would be in situations where you wish to use your units at a RSG host site or at an RSG facility. Where by RSG is traveling to the location and using the inventory for its intended purpose, such as an LAI or ET breeding, RSG performs a Check In operation to finalize the Use at the location, RSG returns unused checked-out inventory to the main storage facility to be checked back in, and Adjust for any checked-out inventory that was found to be unusable.
Note:
A Use transaction is pending until completed by RSG, and in that state reduces Available inventory quantity in your account.
Use:
Select one or more lots to use from
Specify the quantity you want to use from each selected lot
You cannot specify more than the available quantity of the lot, or total quantity owned.
Optionally enter notes.
Click Submit to create a pending Use transaction.
Discard Inventory
Discard transactions are initiated by the customer and completed by RSG. RSG completes a discard by removing inventory from a location and discarding it.
Note:
A Discard transaction is pending until completed by RSG, and in that state reduces Available inventory quantity.
Discard:
Select one or more lots to discard inventory from
Specify the quantity you want to discard from each selected lot
You cannot specify more than the available quantity of the lot, or total quantity owned.
Optionally enter notes.
Click Submit to create a pending Discard transaction.
Adding Inventory
Search
Below is an example of a filtered search result when selecting semen, sheep, all breeds and A-Z sort.
Adding Inventory
There are three ways to add inventory to your account:
Deposit inventory obtained from outside of the RSG system.
Purchase inventory from someone who has an RSG account.
Work with RSG to collect inventory from a donor animal you own.
When you click the Add Inventory button you are asked if you have a Sell Code. Selecting 'Yes' lets you use the Sell Code to claim inventory you purchased from another RSG account. Selecting 'No' lets you set up a pending Deposit. Specify the quantity and enter notes that will help RSG know how they should expect to receive the inventory you wish to deposit. You may wish to contact RSG as well. The pending Deposit transaction will be visible to RSG for them to complete when the inventory arrives, and they have placed it into a storage location.
Purchasing inventory from another account is facilitated by the selling account following the Sell process. The seller will select your account as the buyer and the transaction completes immediately.
If you own an animal (see Animal Ownership) and wish to collect genetic material for storage, contact RSG to set up an appointment for collection. RSG will process the collected material and record it in your account.
Search
In the My Inventory screen you can search for an animal by Code or Name. You can also enter other search terms to find inventory based on any meta data that may have been entered at the time the inventory lot was collected or deposited. An example is mating information if you are searching for a particular embryo; you can enter the dam, sire or "dam x sire" as search criteria.
Search results can further be refined using the drop-down filters provided.
Transaction History
Transaction History
Here you can view all of the transactions related to the storage account. You may enter search criteria and further refine the search results using the dropdown filters provided. The Action (...) menu provides a more detailed view of a transaction. Some transactions occur in batches, such as a Sell and a Purchase. Transactions in a batch are linked together using a Transaction Link ID. You may or may not be able to see all of the linked transactions depending on your permissions or role. You will always see all transactions directly related to the account you are working in.
