Join us for our 2022 Fall series of open-house-style programs featuring a variety of themes and activities for the entire family! Each event includes an engaging presentation, crafts for the family and a guided/self-paced night walk on the boardwalk. An old-fashion campfire with songs and, of course, s’mores for the perfect ending. Bring your own seating to enjoy the campfire! Space is limited to 45 people.

Time: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Cost: $17.00/person (4 years and up) - includes nighttime access to Center grounds, main presentation, kids craft/activity, campfire with songs and one s'more per guest!

Complimentary lemonade for kids; themed adult beverages and extra s'mores available for purchase.

3rd Annual Bat Week Celebration

6:00 - 9:00 pm

Join us for an evening celebrating our favorite flying mammal! Jessica Anderson, Director of Education for Bat World Sanctuary, will share some amazing information about these nocturnal creatures during the main presentation of the evening. Carol Garrison, BCI Bat Ambassador, will lead a stroll on the boardwalk to enjoy the darkness of the wetland. Have some fun and dress up in your favorite bat or Halloween custom; we'll have a prize for the best adult and youth costumes! Younger guests will enjoy a nocturnal creature craft, and guests over 21 can enjoy a bat-themed cocktail for an additional fee. Bring your chairs and sing some campfire songs while enjoying a s'more to wrap up this evening dedicated to a very important member of our ecosystem.

Hog Wild: An Evening with Sam Kieschnick with Texas Parks and Wildlife

Do you want to know more about the wild pig invasion in Texas? Then join us in November as we welcome Texas Parks and Wildlife Urban Biologist Sam Kieschnick to the Center to talk about these invasive omnivores. Enjoy a sunset stroll on the boardwalk before Sam's presentation. Our younger guests can create a piggy craft to take home, and we'll be offering a hog themed cocktail for the over 21 crowd to enjoy for an additional cost. Bring a jacket and enjoy some delicious s'mores around the campfire while we sing campfire songs to end the evening.
