ROBIN ANTAR

GILBERT AND MARION ROLLER SCULPTURE AWARD

Stone Sculptor Robin Antar captured the $1,000 Gilbert and Marion Roller Sculpture Award. “My passion is to create virtual records of cultural and personal events that have impacted me greatly. All of my work is rooted in observation. It could come out as Pop Art, as an abstract form, or as a combination of both. The style I use is one that best reflects the inspiration behind each piece.”

Antar’s mission as a sculptor is to create a visual record of modern culture through the meticulous replication of everyday objects. Her sculptures include playful depictions of hamburgers, ketchup and mustard bottles and boots. Sculpting in stone since 1974, her work has been exhibited in shows and galleries across the country, including Sotheby’s, the National Arts Club, Nabisco Gallery, Fine Art Management Enterprises, the City Museum of St. Louis, and the Provincetown Art Museum. Born in Atlantic City, she resides in West Long Branch, NJ.
