It's Happening THIS Weekend, Folks!

On April 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Florida Agricultural Museum will host its annual "Family Farm Festival." Planned activities include a rare opportunity to experience pioneer farm life, up-close and personal. Interactive and educational fun is the order of the day, and visitors can immerse themselves in the structures, equipment and livestock that helped build the state of Florida and the nation.

Expert demonstrations of traditional homesteading skills will include weaving, blacksmithing, candle-dipping and woodworking as well as equestrian demonstrations and the chance to visit with rare Florida heritage livestock.

A rich array of vendors and exhibitors will include Flagler County Farm Bureau, the UF Extension Office, Agriculture in the Classroom, Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Service, Florida Federation of Fairs, Florida Peanut Producers Association, Fresh From Florida, Florida Agricultural Crime Unit, Angie's Homemade Soaps & Crafty Crafts, Bikini Bee Company, Bryce Brushworks, Ag Pro, Ring Power Corp, Bunnell Masonic Lodge, the Worm Whisperers, Florida Farm Bureau Cares & Membership, Florida 4-H and more.

Entertainment will be provided by the Thick and Thin String Band, while those who tire of "booth snacking" can grab something more substantial at The Wandering Hoagie Food Truck.

If you've ever wanted to better understand "the old ways" while gaining insight into the rich history of Florida, the Family Farm Festival is a "can't miss" event.

Tickets are $10 for children and $12 for adults on the day of the event, with museum members getting in for free! If you purchase your tickets on-line in advance, they will cost $8 for children and $10 for adults (see teal and yellow button below to purchase)

Please be aware that Old Kings Road N. is closed at its intersection with North-Bound US 1. Those coming from the south will need to enter via Matanzas Woods Road to Old Kings Rd N. Those coming from the north will be able to enter through the Ag Museum's northern most US 1 entrance. See below for more details.

Detailed Guide to Avoiding Construction

While both North and Southbound lanes of US 1 remain open at its intersection with Old Kings Road N, Old Kings Road itself is CLOSED at that intersection. Those attempting to access the Ag Museum grounds on the day of the festival will not be able to turn right onto Old Kings Road from Northbound US 1. If you are coming from the south, please follow Matanzas Woods Road, passing Matanzas High School and making a LEFT turn onto Old Kings Road N (there is an earlier intersection with Old Kings Road, where you can only turn right -- stay on Matanzas Woods Road until you can make the left-hand turn). Stay on Old Kings Road N, passing the Pellicer Creek Conservation Area and going over I-95. You will come to the Florida Ag Museum on your right. There will be signage directing you along the way.

If you are traveling from the North, you can stay on Southbound US 1 and enter the Ag Museum campus at its northern-most entry point, which is normally closed to traffic but will be open the day of the festival. Signs will also direct you to this entrance.
