The Arc of Nevada’s Excellence in Nursing Awards Gala is an annual night of gratitude, recognizing those who provide tireless care for our community’s most vulnerable during their most challenging times.

Join us on Saturday, November 14th, as we announce the winners and celebrate the heart of healthcare.

Category Nominees: To become an official candidate, we need you to complete some information. That information can be found HERE. You can also submit a CV/Resume in lieu of the form. Deadline to submit candidate information is Friday, October 30, 2026.

Judging

All category and Distinguished nurse candidate information will be redacted to remove all identifiable information.. This includes first name, last name, and place of employment to maintain anonymity of the candidate.
All candidates are judged by a minimum of three people.
Nurses who are judging do NOT judge the category in the area of their practice to avoid recognizing a candidate and maintain fairness.
Judges reserve the right to change a candidate's category if they meet the criteria of that category and if they score higher in the other category.

Nurse's Choice Nominations

Now it's time to nominate someone who is not a nurse but supports nursing. These nomiantions should be done by a nurse. You do not have to be a nurse nominee to nominate someone for the Nurse's Choice award. Nurse's Choice nominations are due Friday, October 30th.

Meet Our Emcees

Carla Rea

Carla Rea is the host of The KKLZ Morning Show on 96.3 KKLZ for over 15 years and has been entertaining for decades on comedy stages, late night, TV, and radio.

She is a member of the Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame, and a Gracie Award winner. She worked as a light-feature reporter for KSNV, the NBC affiliate in Las Vegas, as a part of “Wake up with the Wagner’s”, going behind the scenes of Las Vegas shows, restaurants, and more.

Carla is a seasoned comedian who has appeared on Conan O'Brien, Craig Ferguson, a Showtime special, and in comedy clubs across the country, and across the globe.

She brings her signature wit, humor and sarcasm to 96.3 KKLZ every Monday-Friday, 6am to 10am.

Ozzy Mora

Ozzy Mora joined 8 News Now in June 2023 as their noon anchor and reporter. She comes from Midland, TX where she was an evening anchor and anchored Spanish digital cut-ins for Estrella TV.

She is an Emmy-nominated anchor, and has a passion for telling stories specifically of people making a difference, organizations coming together to help others, and assisting in providing resources for people in need. Through her stories, she has helped children become entrepreneurs through lemonade stands to helping organizations raise enough funds to build shower trailers for the homeless.

She has been recognized by nonprofits and organizations for her strides in helping the community.

She loves coffee and loves to laugh. It’s the best medicine ever. You will always catch her smiling.
