EVENT: AI For Good: Making Sense of Big Data and High Tech to Cure What Ails Us

Date: Monday June 5

Time: 2:15-3:15 p.m.

Location: Room 253 A, B, C, Boston Convention Center

SuperSession Panel: Seema Kumar, Rick Bright, Daniel Kraft, Maria Luisa Pineda, Greg Petsko

Event details:

Are you experiencing AI vertigo? The dizzying array of things AI can seemingly do--good, great, and worrisome—has the world of healthcare both excited and overwhelmed. Join Cure and expert speakers for a BIO super session that will explain how we can optimally leverage the breathtaking advances of AI and other advanced technologies. Can ChaptGPT go beyond the writing of school essays and emails to take on truly tough challenges in healthcare - like predicting Alzheimer’s, providing early warning systems for pandemics, and curing cancer?

We will start with futurist Daniel Kraft, MD taking us on a whirlwind tour of current and future health technologies. These include the creation of a “digital twin” - a physiological computer profile of “you”—that can use advanced testing and monitoring to predict your healthcare future, and hopefully to mitigate or prevent disease. A panel of experts will then showcase “here and now” examples of how AI is already being used to make sense of big data to speed up drug discovery and reduce costs; integrating new technologies like cell and gene therapies; advancing scanning technologies; and other new tech to better detect, diagnose, and treat cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, cardiovascular disease, and much more.

Join us for this glimpse into the future and the announcement of a new initiative to answer questions on how to use AI For Good.

As an innovation leader in healthcare, Cure® has a bold vision: to advance healthcare and Cure. Period. That’s why we have a period after our logo.

We can’t do this alone. No single individual or organization can. That’s why we are focused on building an ecosystem of innovators across disciplines and sectors who will collaborate to solve critical healthcare challenges leveraging the latest science and technology, drive health equity and engender trust, and shape the future of healthcare by bringing together the community and society overall.

Our 300,000-square-foot innovation campus was purpose-built to encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration and the free exchange of ideas. Our state-of-the-art laboratories, medical device incubator, collaboration residency and dry lab office spaces enable cross-sector research. Today Cure houses 21 companies and a soon to be launched Cure innovation labs with a Lab of the Future and includes for-profit and non-profit organizations focused on medical technology, healthcare services, therapeutics, and healthcare investment. With an education center and event space to engage the community, Cure also serves as a hub for networking and professional development through a series of events, educational lectures, access to world-renowned subject matter experts, and brings together thousands of healthcare leaders.

As CEO, I am thrilled and excited to transform and advance healthcare by building a thriving and diverse ecosystem and unlocking the power of community, collaboration, content and convening that fulfills the dreams of entrepreneurs, fuels breakthroughs, drives diversity and inclusion, economic growth, and advances healthcare outcomes.
