ALPHA OMEGA THEATRICAL DANCE COMPANY presents

SHARING THE STAGE featuring

TIED: A one-man play

by Crystal Rae

Starring Jason Carmichael

In 1963 the world lost “4 Little Girls" in the bombing of 16th Street Baptist Church, but Daniel lost his youngest daughter. This devoted husband and father has always been a tie wearing, toe the line, straight shooter, until his wife and the one daughter that survived, become the next target.

Named Best New Play by Houston Press in 2023, Tied’s world premiere in Houston, Texas was met warmly by critics being called a “Tour De Force”. The Houston Press also awarded Jason Carmichael the prestigious Best Actor award in 2023 for his role as Daniel in Tied. United Solo Festival 2025 named Carmichael Best Actor and Rae as Best Emerging Playwright for Tied. Critics and audiences alike have embraced the world of a father rocked by the bombing of The 16th Street Baptist Church in which his daughter perishes. Hope, heartbreak, and humor intertwine as we watch Daniel fight for his footing.

SHARING THE STAGE was created by Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company in 2017. With a fundamental goal of sharing resources, the series promotes all art forms including readings, cabarets, one man/woman shows, musicals and more. Artists arrive to a fully outfitted space with theatrical lighting and sound capabilities. The space becomes an incubator for artmaking with support to produce a performance run.

Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company's programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and in part by public funds form the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, the Mosaic Network, and individual donors like you. Thank you!
