March 29

9:00 am & 10:30 am

Joyful shouts of hosanna! ring in the air as Jesus enters Jerusalem. Soon, though, the shouts will resonate with ominous tones of betrayal and condemnation.

Our worship will offer scripture, reflection, and powerful music as we are invited to follow Jesus as he enters Jerusalem and embraces all the final week of his earthly life will bring.

April 2

7:30 pm

Maundy comes from the Latin word mandatum, the first word of the phrase “A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another, as I have loved you,” spoken by Jesus to his disciples in the upper room after washing their feet.

This will be a powerful worship service offering communion, as we remember Jesus sharing the Last Supper with his disciples before his betrayal, and Tenebrae (Latin word meaning darkening), where the gradual darkening of the sanctuary reminds us of the darkness and weight of sin that Jesus assumed for our benefit.

April 3

7:00 pm

Jesus was betrayed, arrested, and condemned to crucifixion. In an amazing act of love, Jesus accepted the shame of the cross so humankind may experience reconciliation and peace.

We’ll welcome several neighboring congregations here at St. John’s, to reflect on seven words (brief statements) Christ Jesus heard as he embraced the cross. As we worship, we’ll see the depth of the love Christ extended to us on “Good” Friday.

April 5

9:00 am & 10:30am

Christ is Risen! Condemnation and the cross yields death, yet death cannot contain the life-giving love of God. As grieving followers look to a tomb, Christ meets them to reveal the beauty of new, resurrection life.

Our joyous Easter worship services will include inspiring music and a meaningful message to celebrate the new life Christ’s resurrection ushered in.

"No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."

– John 15:13
