Meet the Ambassador: Josh
Josh, a friendly young man known as a “social butterfly,” loves riding his special bike around the URS campus and interacting with friends and staff in the Adult Services Program.
Josh, who is 37 years old, has been coming to URS for more than seven years. Born six weeks prematurely, he is a twin diagnosed with cerebral palsy and a developmental delay.
Josh has made significant physical progress over the years, transitioning from a wheelchair to walking with the aid of a walker. He received physical therapy services at URS when he was younger and has undergone several surgeries to improve his mobility. Up until the age of 13, Josh suffered from a severe seizure disorder but is now seizure-free thanks to the ketogenic diet.
According to his mom, Jodi, "I think since Josh has been at URS he has gained such confidence in himself. Participating in the vocational program allows him to really develop his skills and he just lights up |
