  • Embark in Athens and visit seven incredible ports before arriving in Istanbul.
  • Cruise through the spectacular Corinth Canal, one of the world's narrowest and most impressive waterways—a highlight few travelers ever experience.
  • Explore the legendary coastlines of Greece and Turkey, where ancient Greek temples and magnificent Ottoman mosques tell the story of two remarkable civilizations.
  • Sail the beautiful Aegean Sea, the historic Dardanelles, and the Sea of Marmara.

Exclusive Windstar Destination Discovery Event

One of the most extraordinary experiences of this voyage is included exclusively for Windstar guests.

Enjoy An Evening in Ephesus, an unforgettable after-hours event at one of the world's best-preserved ancient cities. Dine beneath the stars during a five-course, white-glove dinner while the beautiful sounds of the Aegean Chamber Orchestra fill the historic ruins around you. It's a magical evening few travelers ever have the opportunity to experience.

Extend Your Adventure

Why let the journey end with the cruise?

Enhance your vacation with an optional post-cruise extension to Cappadocia, Turkey, where surreal landscapes, underground cities, and iconic hot-air balloons create memories you'll treasure forever.

Or arrive a few days early and explore the wonders of Greece before boarding your yacht. Whether you'd like to discover Athens, visit the Greek Islands, or enjoy a custom land itinerary, I can help create the perfect pre-cruise experience.

PORTS OF CALL

ATHENS, GREECE

Athens is known as the oldest city in the world! It is famous for being the birthplace of democracy, hosting the first modern Olympic Games in 1896.

Of course, one of the highlights of Athens is the Parthenon, but there is so much more to see! Plan a Pre-Cruise Excursion to see all the highlights of Athens and the surrounding area! Ask me about details!

TOP THINGS TO DO IN ATHENS:

  • Acropolis and Parthenon Guided Walking tour
  • Greek Food Walking Tours
  • Half Day tours of Athens
  • Meteora Monasteried, caves and coastal sopts
  • Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon
  • Island hopping to the neighboring islands
  • Biblical Tour Letters to the Corinthians and St. Paul's footsteps!

CORINTH CANAL

The Corinth Canal in Greece is a stunning water passage that took over 2,000 years to go from a first idea to completion

Too Narrow for Big Ships: Modern massive cargo ships and mega cruise liners are too wide to fit. Today, mostly small cruise ships, local tourist boats, and private yachts squeeze through, sometimes leaving less than a meter of space on each side

Before the canal existed, ancient Greeks used the Diolkos—a paved stone road where ships were loaded onto wheeled vehicles and dragged across the 6-kilometer land strip to avoid a long 430-mile sea trip around the peninsula

DELPHI

Delphi was considered the center of the world by ancient Greeks, home to the famous Oracle, and built on the slopes of Mount Parnassus

The Center Point: Zeus sent two eagles flying from the opposite ends of the earth, and they met at Delphi.

The Omphalos Stone: A carved stone marker called the omphalos (meaning navel) was kept at the Temple of Apollo to show this special spot.

This will be a day in itself! Enjoy!

SANTORINI

Santorini is famous for its dramatic volcanic caldera, stunning cliffside sunsets, and iconic whitewashed architecture with blue-domed churches

Colorful shores: The island has unique beaches with red sand, black sand, and white cliffs formed by old lava and ash

TOP THINGS TO DO:

Iconic Sights and Towns

  • Oia Village: Walk the narrow marble paths, spot the famous blue-domed churches, and view the sunset from the Castle of Oia.
  • Fira: Ride the cable car or shop along Gold Street in the vibrant cliffside capital.
  • Ammoudi Bay: Descend the stone steps below Oia to eat fresh seafood by the water.

Outdoor Adventures

  • Fira to Oia Hike: Take the 6.5-mile (10.5 km) clifftop trail offering panoramic caldera views.
  • Skaros Rock: Hike the dramatic promontory in Imerovigli for a 360-degree sea view.
  • Volcano and Hot Springs Cruise: Sail out to Nea Kameni and soak in the sulfur springs.

History and Culture

  • Akrotiri Archaeological Site: Tour the prehistoric Minoan city preserved in volcanic ash
  • Wine Tasting: Sample local Assyrtiko white wines at clifftop venues like Santo Wines in Pyrgos.
  • Kamari & Perissa Beaches: Relax on unique black volcanic sand shores.

BODRUM, TURKEY

Bodrum is known for its turquoise waters, whitewashed buildings and lively blend of ancient ruins and glamorous beach life.

Celebrity Sandals: Local master shoemakers have hand-crafted vegetable-tanned leather Bodrum sandals for decades, famously worn by international stars like Mick Jagger

TOP THINGS TO DO:

Historic Sites and Museums

  • Bodrum Castle: A 15th-century fortress built by the Knights of St. John that houses the fascinating Museum of Underwater Archaeology with ancient shipwrecks.
  • Mausoleum at Halicarnassus: The ruins of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, built for the ruler Mausolus.
  • Bodrum Amphitheatre: An open-air 4th-century BC theater offering great views of the city and old stone seat carvings.
  • Myndos Gate: The historic stone remains of the ancient city wall gate once attacked by Alexander the Great.

Scenic Spots and Coastal Villages

  • Gümüşlük: A quiet fishing neighborhood famous for seaside fish restaurants and walking across to Rabbit Island.
  • Bodrum Windmills: An 18th-century hill ridge spot between Bodrum and Gümbet with panoramic views of the sea.
  • Yalıkavak Marina: A modern luxury hub filled with high-end designer shops, mega-yachts, and fine dining.

EPHESUS, TURKEY

Ephesus was a major ancient Greek and Roman port city in modern-day Turkey featuring the Temple of Artemis (one of the Seven Wonders), the Library of Celsius, and a massive 24,000-seat theater

Now far from the sea: Silt from a nearby river filled the ancient harbor, leaving the ruins miles inland today

Legend says the fierce female warriors known as Amazons founded the city.

The Virgin Mary: Many believe she spent her final years in a small stone house near the hills of Ephesus.

THIS IS WHERE WE WILL BE HOLDING OUR EXCLUSIVE 5 STAR DINNER

MYKONOS, GREECE

Mykonos is known as the "Island of the Winds," named after a mythological ruler, and features hundreds of churches plus a famous pelican mascot.

Traditional doors and windows are painted blue for fishermen, green for farmers, and red for everyone else.

Little Venice & Windmills: A romantic seaside quarter with houses built right on the water's edge, accompanied by 16th-century hillside windmills

TOP THINGS TO DO:

Sightseeing in Mykonos Town

  • Wander the Alleys: Walk through the narrow, white streets of Chora to see bright pink flowers and small shops.
  • The Windmills: Visit the iconic 16th-century Kato Mili windmills that overlook the sea.
  • Paraportiani Church: See one of the most famous and uniquely shaped white churches in Greece.

Beaches and Day Trips

  • Beach Hopping: Relax on sandy shores like Ornos, Elia, or the quieter Agios Sostis.
  • Day Trip to Delos: Take a short boat ride to the nearby sacred island of Delos to see ancient Greek ruins

MYRINA/LEMNOS

Lemnos has beautiful sandy beaches dotted along its coast line, lakes (including a salt lake), bird life and the resident deer or two that reside in Myrina on the Kastro. An island with a long ancient history of mythological Gods, Heros and Legends, Lemnos has something to offer all ages and is perfect for young families and people who like to go explore.

Myrina is the capital of Lemnos. The town stretches across two beautiful bays and in the centre is an imposing Kastro (castle) which sits on a large formation of volcanic rock. Myrina charms visitors with the Venetian castle, Neoclassical mansions, Ottoman buildings and narrow streets all within walking distance of the picture perfect port of Myrina.

Along the waterfront you will find plenty of restaurants and traditional taverns, whether its indulging in Bougatsa (sweet pastry with custard creme) and a Kafedaki (coffee) in the Port of Myrina or a cocktail by night along Romeikos Gialos at the base of the Kastro.

Between the picturesque alleys of Myrina and the main shopping precinct of the 'Agora' you can find numerous shops and cafes, locally made products such as pottery and crafts, pasta and wheat products and award winning honey and wine.

ISTANBUL

Sadly our last stop on this amazing adventure! But don't leave early! Enjoy this wonderful city, or join us on the post-cruise excursion!

Istanbul is a fascinating metropolis famous for spanning two continents, housing a 1,500-year-old architectural marvel, and serving as the capital for three massive global empires

TOP THINGS TO DO:

The best things to do in Istanbul include visiting the Hagia Sophia, exploring the Grand Bazaar, and taking a Bosphorus Cruise. This vibrant city bridges Europe and Asia, offering incredible history, stunning architecture, and amazing food.
