Simplified Nutrition Online’s Clinical Advantage

There can be no room for error in offering a perfect continuum of healthcare and Simplified Nutrition Online understands this. At the heart of SNO are the menus and recipes designed by our Registered Dieticians which are carried out by your Certified Dietary Managers and Clinical Staff. SNO ensures its recipes are in accordance with nutritional standards endorsed by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics along with the Standards of Practice in Nutrition Care and Standards of Professional Performance for Registered Dieticians.

SNO’s menus are designed within Academy guidelines and are individualized for our customers who must adhere to further mandatory state requirements. Our menus are carefully crafted following specific corporate requirements and input from Client Resident Dieticians working within various locations.

SNO’s own Clinical Nutritionists stay abreast of new research and maintain all Academy guidelines in the field of clinical diagnoses such as diabetes, dysphagia, gluten sensitivity, etc. SNO connects standardized clinical data and nutrition to enhance your resident/patient’s overall health and outcomes including weights, age, sex, diagnosis, type of diet, and texture modification of liquids and solids—just to name a few!

SNO Checks Nutrition and Food Allergies and Many Drug Interactions

To maintain the integrity of the centralized data towards nutrition and food allergies compliance, SNO employs dedicated Dietitians who maintain the Central Ingredient Database. This database currently contains thousands of ingredients and will continue to expand to meet our customer’s needs. SNO is in collaboration with Elizabeth Stewart Hands & Associates (ESHA) who is known for developing the Industry Standard in Food Processor Nutrition Analysis. In the future, we hope to combine our ingredient database with ESHA’s 60,000+ ingredients and bring a nearly limitless model for our clients to enjoy.

SNO Promotes Clinical Survey Readiness

All of SNO’s customers who participate in Medicare and Medicaid are required by federal law, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), and/or the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to undergo an annual survey and certification process by its state’s health department. LTC and treatment facilities must be in substantial compliance with Medicare and Medicaid requirements, as well as state law. Additional surveys are also completed if deficiencies have been noted or if other governmental agencies have received complaints surrounding the care of residents. SNO’s users seek to avoid violations at all costs due to federal law enforcement’s ability to deny payment for new admissions and incurring infractions for each violation, along with imposing other restrictions or even closing the facility. SNO is sensitive to survey readiness because its developers originally were hired by Registered Dietitians who had been through survey and knew survey’s stress and catch points!
