Pastors: Please share with your tech team members!
Moving Forward with Video Streaming
A monthly roundtable discussion for those planning and implementing
the technical aspects of an online worship service
Every Second Thursday of each Month
Next Meeting -
March 11, 2021
7 pm – 9 pm
Many of our ANE congregations have been learning new ways to do worship by using a variety of online worship software. Many congregations are streaming their worship services using either Facebook Live or YouTube. Others are working with ZOOM or other video conferencing software. Many of these same churches are experiencing challenges in finding the right equipment and techniques to create a meaningful and effective worship experience online. The ANE District is offering a regular (monthly) video conference gathering for those working with technical aspects of online worship in our congregations. These roundtable discussions will be offered on the second Thursday of each month.
These online gatherings will be led by some of ANE’s own tech experts:
- Doug Hallman is the lead tech at Lampeter Church of the Brethren, whose day job has him traveling the world as a video systems designer and integrator for different touring productions such as Bon Jovi, Nickleback and TSO.
- Enten Eller is a tri-vocational minister serving the Ambler Church of the Brethren (ANE) as well as the denomination’s only completely online congregation, Living Stream Church of the Brethren (PNWD).
- Mark Myers is currently doing the live streaming at Little Swatara Church of the Brethren. He has done Video production for more than 25 years and has been livestreaming since Livestream.com launched in 2007. His clients include the United Methodist Church, Mennonite Central Committee, Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, and many non-profit fundraisers. Mark isn’t able to attend all monthly meetings but has offered to assist Doug and Enten in consulting with congregations.
Our goal as a tech community is to help equip our ANE congregations with the knowledge needed to help start, or to advance, their online presence. Please bring your questions, big or small, general or specific. As a group we’ll learn from one another and build lasting relationships, so that together we can continue to advance God’s Kingdom outside the church walls during these challenging times.
These gatherings are open to all those who are interested in learning more about the technical, and practical aspects of offering online worship at your church. Join us for these online discussions on an ongoing monthly basis.
While everyone is welcome to drop in, if you pre-register, that will help us plan for our time together and help us have information required to address your specific situation and needs!
