Happy Soon To Be Halloween!

Our house is fully decorated and the grandkids are already bouncing off the walls, anticipating Trick or Treating! I have been playing tons of USTA matches! What a joy to get to know Timberhill members better as we travel together! November is an important month; It is our annual meeting when we really try to get as many of you as possible to join our virtual meeting. You have voted in new board members and get to meet them. You will hear from our pros, the teens and what is happening with them, the USTA teams and what YOU are getting out of tennis with your friends. We take lots of notes and LOVE to have you join us. No excuses not to come!! From the comfort of your home. Our board works really hard to get you information ahead of time to read minutes from committees and then have a chance to hear highlights and we listen to your questions. Small groups is when to answer a couple of questions for the board so we have that information to plan for our next calendar year. And the MAIN THEME is TENNIS! How cool is that! Happy Swinging! Donna

As I write this, we are in the midst of the 2022 Board of Directors election. As most of you know, TTC is governed by a 9-person Board of Directors, voted in from the membership. Each Director serves a 3-year term, and three seats expire each year, replaced through fall elections. This year's election features three candidates to fill the three spots, but we still need 25% participation from eligible voting memberships for the election to be valid--so if you haven't already submitted your ballot (they were emailed to eligible memberships on Oct 24), please take a minute to complete it and click "Submit".

TTC is also hosting our Annual Membership Meeting on November 14 at 6:30pm.  It will be on Zoom again, and all members are encouraged to attend to get updates on the past year's activities and upcoming year's plans, and to hear the general state of the club. To RSVP your spot, visit this page and click the RSVP button.

With the early rainy/cold weather systems arriving this week, we've gone ahead and winterized the indoor and outdoor courts for the season.  For the indoor courts, this means sealing up the vents to preserve warmth in the building during daytime hours.  This was remarkably effective last year, particularly in courts 4-6 where the exterior doors close automatically after they're opened.  In courts 1-3, results varied based upon whether and how long doors were left open.  Please remember to close doors in 1-3 after arriving and leaving this fall and winter so we can keep those courts comfortable.
