| Frequently Asked Questions
What do you charge for your services?
- Our basic rate is 10% of PAID insurance claims. We do not charge for any co-pays, coinsurance, or out of pocket payments. Our rates are equal to or less than a billing service charging 7-8% but collecting on co-pays and coinsurance.
How do I know if I'm a good fit for Acuclaims?
- If you are billing at least 40-50 claims per month or more, are having issues billing yourself or with whomever you have doing your billing currently, or have a desire to grow your practice, then our services are perfect for you!
How does Acuclaims Operate?
- Spearheaded by over 35 years of experience, Acuclaims operates with a day crew and a night crew billing insurance claims and verifying coverage typically within 24 to 48 hours. We have a dedicated team, an incredibly efficient in-house proprietary software, and use a number of clearing houses to ensure all claims are filed promptly. We document every call and letter we submit, and it is there for you to see. We are totally transparent. NO billing service does all this. We LOVE to work closely with clients looking to grow their practice, pointing them in the right direction whether it be in-network or out-of-network, appropriate carriers to contract with, office management recommendations, documentation, and key insights in acupuncture insurance billing and practice management so that your practice can grow.
My office has multiple providers, how does that work with your services?
- If your practice has multiple providers then we will need the NPI of all providers within the practice, your group NPI number, and carriers you are in network with and login information for any/all of those carriers.
Do you do contracting?
- No, we do not credential practices with networks, but we are glad to walk you through the process or recommend an expert who does.
Do you do authorizations?
- No we do not and cannot authorize client visits as that can only be determined by the provider. (It is NOT legal for a 3rd party to request authorizations.) We WILL follow up on all authorizations and have processes to let our clients know when an authorization is expiring.
Do you determine Fee Schedules?
- We do not determine your fees, that is the provider's responsibility. If you are unaware of what your fees should be, we can help advise on what your fee schedule could and should look like and why. Many factors go into determining your rates, and we can help advise you on those aspects and why it is important to consider them when determining your rates.
