The WiSE Residential Community Coordinator (RCC) is a part-time student employee who assists in building community and providing support to other WiSE students, specifically within the WiSE Residential Learning Communities.
The WiSE RCCs support students by leading WiSE community groups composed of residents of the WiSE Learning Communities. Working with their RA and WiSE staff (Kenzie Schwartz) to plan and host community-building events for WiSE students. Community groups meet biweekly with the WiSE Community Coordinator to organize informal gatherings.
QUALIFICATIONS
For consideration, candidates must meet the following qualification requirements:
Minimum grade point average of 2.5
Current undergraduate student enrolled in a STEM field at Iowa State University
Sophomore, Junior, or Senior classification (by time at ISU NOT credits, for academic year 2025-2026)
Living in one of the following residence halls for the entire 2026-2027 academic year:
• Helser, Martin, or Eaton Hall • Friley Hall
• Geoffroy or Buchanan Hall • Willow or Larch Hall
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Positive attitude
Self-motivated

RESPONSIBILITIES
Arrange and participate in bi-weekly academic, social, or leadership activities with WiSE community group.
Meet individually with WiSE supervisor a minimum of once per month.
Attend weekly meetings with other RCCs and supervisor.
Help students become familiar with university resources; advise and refer to appropriate university resources, as the need arises.
Hang up flyers and bulletin boards provided by WiSE Staff.
Attend WiSE events and activities with community group members.
