Serious Incidents Training Levels I & II will focus on preparing, interviewing, and documenting serious incidents in the workplace. You will learn how to prepare a level of documentation that will assist the Office of Investigations in their research.


Real-world scenarios from the field, best practices in maintaining safety, conducting investigations, obtaining written statements, proper documentation, and corrective action will be


Participants will gain skills in:

  • Writing clear, objective documentation
  • Applying best practices using real-world scenarios
  • Aligned with NJ DHS standards and includes updated forms and processes.
  • Certificate awarded upon full completion of training.


NOTE: **Completion of SIT LEVEL 1 is required to take LEVEL 2.**

Michelle Hall-Boggan is a graduate of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and later received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Rutgers University.


With more than 20 years of experience in the social services field, Michelle has dedicated her career to leadership development, staff training, and strengthening organizational culture. She provides consultation and corporate training focused on Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, and effective Debriefing practices.


Michelle’s extensive experience supervising investigations involving allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation — combined with her clinical education and therapeutic training — makes her an exceptional instructor for NJACP’s Ensuring an Effective Investigation of Serious Incidents (SIT) training series.

  • How memory works
  • Behavioral documentation

  • Making the subjective more objective


The workshop includes content that will work to support NJ DHS and includes updated forms and processes.

To ensure consistency, NJACP consulted with DHS’ OPIA (Office of Program Integrity & Accountability) to gain an understanding of their investigatory process, identify the most common reported incidents, and learn of investigations conducted where questionable practices or gaps in information has occurred.


Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate.  To receive a certificate, participants must attend the entire training in full, leaving cameras on.
