- No class Sunday, October 25! Childcare will be provided for children 0-9, or your child can join you for the service.
- Last Sunday, we sent home Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF boxes. If your child wants to participate and you did not get a box and directions, please check the Faith Formation Welcome Table for extras.
- We are starting up a new Pre-K class on November 8! We will be moving our four-year-olds and three-year-olds into the new Pre-K Faith Formation class in the Little Sprouts room, led by Taz Dawson and a volunteer. Our infants and toddlers will move into a new dedicated nursery in the Pinecone room.We appreciate your flexibility as we move quickly to accommodate all our new young friends!
- Service time begins at 9:15 a.m. Kids are welcome to come to class any time after 9 a.m. Parents are also welcome to stay with children who need extra time to feel comfortable.
- Is it hard to get your family to church on Sundays? Wishing you could attend more frequently, but are running up against barriers or are you skipping weeks/attending online because of the cost of gas or other financial pressures? Let us help! Please reach out to Anne at faithformation@ucdsm.org. We can meet in person or by phone to help you get the support you need!

| October 24: Scrappy Hour 9-11 a.m. Scrappy Hour is an informal opportunity for families to gather at the church where adults can get to know each other and kids can play and explore their church home. Please bring a food item to share (no cooking necessary- it can literally be a jug of apple juice from the fridge or half box of granola bars.
November 1: Halloween Party- Kids will Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF in the congregation before going downstairs for Halloween games and activities! This year, First Unitarian Church will return to the annual tradition of Trick-Or-Treat for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). UNICEF is the largest humanitarian organization focused on children. Click here for a video with more information about UNICEF or the Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF program.

Interdependence Art from UU Explorers

This month, we will continue to learn about our church and the people in it! We will create a book together about the church that your child can bring home and share with you. |

The Explorers will learn about our UU values, beginning with Interdependence. They will create art and explore activities that follow the framework of Doing, Belonging, Becoming, and Making. |

|
The youth will engage with the Soul Matters theme of Beginnings. We will explore the work that we are beginning as a class, as part of a congregation, and as individuals, and how we may change over this program year. |

YRUU: Young Religious Unitarian Universalists Wednesday, October 28, at 6:15 p.m.
All 9th–12th grade students are invited to YRUU on the second and fourth Wednesdays at 6:15 p.m.
Meet up with your peers & friends, we'll brainstorm activities and service opportunities for the coming year. YRUU will meet on the same Wednesday nights as the Wednesday Night Dinners throughout the year. |
